Welcome to Lookout Cabin! This charming, authentic Adirondack cabin is only 2.5 miles to Whiteface Mountain and is perfect for enjoying the beauty of summertime in the Adirondacks.
Conveniently located, guests will enjoy easy access to:
- Hiking and Mountain Biking trails
- Olympic Village of Lake Placid (14 min drive)
- Wilmington Beach and Thursday night summer concert series
- Local Bars & Restaurants
- High Falls Gorge
- Whitebrook Dairy Ice Cream (just down the road ;)
Enjoy the majesty of the mountains while relaxing in a genuine, Adirondack cabin!
THE SPACE:
Lookout Cabin is a 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom cabin. There is a queen bed in the bedroom. The cabin has a full bathroom with a shower stall. The kitchen is fully equipped for your cooking needs. The cabin has a washer and dryer for your use. There is a screened-in porch with a dining table and chairs. Enjoy the backyard firepit while stargazing at night.
THE ROOMS:
Bedroom - Comfortable Queen size bed. Dresser for your use. Full size closet for your use. In the closet is a fan and suitcase rack.
Kitchen - Coffee & Tea provided. Cooking oil/spray provided. Fully equipped with pots/pans, dishes, bowls, etc. Kitchen has a dishwasher.
Living Room - 55" Roku Smart TV with Spectrum TV service through the Spectrum App. There are a few games and playing cards provided.
Dining Space - Round dropleaf table in the Living/Dining area with chairs
Bathroom - Shower stall with Shampoo/Conditioner/Body wash. Hair dryer.
Laundry room -Washer & Dryer.
Outdoor Space - Screened porch with dining table and chairs. Charcoal Grill. Fire Pit with Adirondack chairs.
Other Details to Note:
Lookout Cabin, while private, is located next to our Esther Cabin and has a shared driveway. Please be respectful of other guests and park in designated parking spaces only. Please bring a maximum of two vehicles to the cabin.

There is no smoking in the cabin.
There are no pets allowed.

PROS: It is clear that the owners take good care of the property. Everything worked well. Perfect size for a weekend getaway with my wife. At the base of Whiteface and close enough to Lake Placid. On a major highway so it was easy to find but remote and quiet enough, no road noise.CONS: The bathroom. The shower is tiny (hot water works great) and I couldn't turn around without hitting the knob for temperature control. My wife is 4' 11" and didn't have enough room in the shower to raise her feet to wash them! I'm 6' 1" so using this shower was nearly impossible for me. The toilet is also very small and placed between the wall and the sink. If you are anything but very skinny, it's almost useless, there's almost no room to maneuver if you're sitting down.Bed. The bed is a matter of taste and what you are used to. At home I sleep on a firm mattress with a pillow top. So it's a little soft but very supportive. This Queen size bed was too soft for my comfort and I didn't sleep as well as I would have liked.So I'm torn. I really loved the price, the location, the cleanliness and everything but the bed and bathroom were great.I'd love to be able to stay here again but until those two things (or at least the bathroom) are changed I can't. I hate to leave a negative review because except for these two issues the owners have done a great job!

The cabin was nicely decorated and provided all the necessary modern amenities. We loved coming home after a long day of hiking to enjoy the fire pit and wooded lot. We're already recommending the cabin to our friends!

Property looks much nicer in the pics. Bathroom and shower are small. No air conditioning in the living room, just the bedroom but with the open layout- made it hard to cool the bedroom. Bed was comfy. The screened porch was very nice. Would be nice with some lights though.
