First time staying in Destin and first time staying at SunDestin everything was more than we expected. They had construction work going on, but it didn’t bother us.

When we first got there the staff said that our original booked room was having a maintenance issue (they didn’t tell me what it was). They put us in a different room… this rooms view was absolutely awful and was legit garbage… no joke you looked down and there was garbage.
Then the next day we couldn’t even enjoy our entire beach day because we were told we would be moving rooms… this didn’t happen until around 2pm… so that cut our beach day short.
The guy upfront tells me before moving to our other room that “the cleaning ladies turned the heat on so for some reason your room is super hot, we turned the air back on but it may take awhile for your room to cool down.”
We get into our correct room and the room is hot (as expected)… but it stayed hot our entire stay. It wouldn’t get lower than 74 degrees, I have 2 small children and we were all hot trying to go to sleep.
So needless to say, I’m pretty sure the maintenance issue was the air unit not working but they didn’t want to tell me that.
The original booked room was very nice with an excellent view. I asked management to contact me and left my phone number twice and they wouldn’t speak to me. Will not be staying here again.
