Whether you are a returning guest or new to our home, the updated designs throughout the house await. We have followed up on most of your feedback, invested in new mattresses in the en-suite bedrooms, and added a modern streaming TV in the living room!
This 4 bedroom – 3 ½ bathroom home sleeps 11 and has its very own private pool and hot tub, along with an additional ½ bath, and a wet bar at the pool level. Located just 400 yards from the Currituck Sound, you can enjoy breathtaking sunsets, and this home is not too far from the beach for fun in the sun! Beach parking vouchers are provided as well!
Mandarin Duck is part of the Ocean Crest Community Association – allowing you access to the community pool. (Please check below for pool dates) and tennis courts just behind the house on Charles Jenkins Rd.
To make the home low allergy – we ask that you not bring your furry friends or smoke on-premises. We have installed two iWAVE air scrubbers in the two upgraded HVAC systems, as well.
This well-equipped home has everything needed for an ideal vacation! Private pool and hot tub, game room with TV/VCR/DVD, Queen sleep sofa, and half bath. There are 2 master bedrooms (king on the top level, and queen on the mid-level), as well as another bedroom with a queen and a bedroom with a pyramid bunk. Jacuzzi tub, multiple TVs with ROKU and VCR, DVD player, Stereo with/ CD player, and an observation tower! All this and guests are offered a high chair, basketball goal, wet bar, plenty of decking for sunbathing and relaxing, and a horseshoe pit! All bedrooms have a TV/VCR with ROKU! This home is kid-friendly!

• PARKING PASSES ARE REQUIRED YEAR-ROUND when parking on common property-towing is enforced you have a property on Jaycrest Road that is a member of the Ocean Crest community, they must receive the parking pass and understand the rules.
• Parking on the street is prohibited.
• Outdoor lights and speakers should be turned off by 11:00 pm, per Town of Duck ordinance.
• Golf carts are to be parked in a designated parking space and must display a parking pass. Carts parked on the grass or roadside are subject to towing.
• There is a vendor that rolls all trash and recycling cans back to the homes following trash pick-up (Mondays and Fridays, May-September).
• Large trash items left on the street will not be removed by the trash vendor, and we will contact you, the rental company, to arrange disposal.
• RVs, trailers, and boats are NOT permitted within the community.
• Personal belongings, including beach equipment, are not to be left on the beach walkway. Items left are subject to removal by maintenance.

We rented this house last minute, so we didn't have high hopes of a great place going into the rental. I must say, this house was adorable. Super clean, no weird old house smell, and well appointed provisions, with updated kitchenware and thoughtful inclusions in every single room. Also, the decisions the owner made with updates really made a major impact- new light fixtures, butcher block countertops, great sink etc... I appreciated how in every bedroom was a nice laundry basket, there were toothbrush holders in each bathroom, and plenty of very nice dinnerware and coffee cups- all matching, which I also appreciated. The beds were comfortable and the linens were nice- I loved the comforters, as they weren't ugly and could easily be washed and used. We loved the little kitchenette off the pool, such a great addition for drinks and hangout. The only aspects of the house we didn't like were the outdoor elements- the pool area and deck needs a bit of updating, and it was dirty from debris. The pool skimmer was broken, but Shoreline fixed that immediately and had someone come clean the pool. The hot tub was old and yucky - but the kids loved it, I would not go in. The furniture on the deck off the main floor was missing a table, just a bunch of chairs with a random grill cover thrown into the corner of the deck. Also there were fire ants on the deck, we had a hard time trying to sit out there because of the ants. The hammocks were a really nice touch, our kids loved hanging out on the hammocks. Overall this was a great place, and the price point was just right...We would stay here again.

Three complaints; The floors were dirty and sandy when we arrived. After a day of walking barefoot in the house our feet very dirty on the bottom. The gas grill was rusted out inside and didn't cook properly as a result, and the thermostat in the oven was way off. It took an hour and an half to cook baked potatoes ant 400 degrees. Other than that the house was comfortable. The beds were comfortable as well. The kitchen was well stocked with all cooking and eating needs. If it had not been for the items listed I would have given the house a 4.
