Chart Your Course to Fall — Kaptains Treasure Is Ready for Adventure. Experience true Outer Banks seclusion at Kaptain's Treasure, a spacious 5-bedroom, 5.5-bath vacation home in Carova Beach, NC — the northernmost 4WD-only stretch of the OBX. A four-wheel-drive vehicle is required; the adventure begins the moment you hit the beach road.
Bedrooms & Sleeping Arrangements
Sleep 12 guests across five bedrooms: four king bedrooms and one room with a double bed and two twins. Two king rooms have private en-suite baths; two additional kings share a bath. The top-floor king suite has its own private bath and adjoining living area with half bath.
Private Pool, Hot Tub & Kiddie Pool
Relax in the 14x28 private pool, soak in the 6-person hot tub, or let the little ones splash in their own kiddie pool. Pool and hot tub are open mid-May through end of September.
Game Room & Kitchenette
The ground-floor game room features a full-size pool table, second full-size refrigerator, microwave, extra sink, and comfortable seating with TV — perfect for family downtime without leaving the house.
Beach & Local Attractions
The 4x4 beach access is just 500 feet away. Head west an equal distance to Carova Park for fishing, kayaking, boating, and picnicking. Wild horses roam freely in this area — sightings from the decks are common. Stargazing here is unmatched.

Fully stocked kitchen with Keurig, dishwasher, and microwave
Washer/dryer, iron and ironing board
Water filtration system
Wireless internet, DISH TV on every floor (most TVs are also smart)
Charcoal BBQ grill, outdoor shower, outdoor dining furniture
Five beach chairs, Pack 'n Play
Sheets and pillows provided; towels available for a fee
Free unlimited parking; two beach season passes included
Pet Policy: Up to two dogs considered with breed, age, and weight restrictions. Per-pet fee and refundable security deposit required. No cats.
Check-In: Saturday. Three-night stays available for last-minute and spring bookings. No graduation groups or events permitted.

Beautiful!!! Relaxing!!!!Me and my family loved this place.We saw wild horses about every day.The beach was just minutes away, easy for the kids to go to the beach. This house has plenty of room for a family, and they just loved the pool table.We relaxed in the spa and the kids swim in the pool.Laura, the property manager is absolutely wonderful.She is quick to respond and if something is wrong or breaks, she gets replacement or it gets fixed quick.It is recommended that you do have a four-wheel-drive. There is a reason for that..The 8 mile ride up the beach in the loose sand can be tricky without a four-wheel-drive.Only negative thing that I would say about getting to the property is in Duck,Check-in is usually on Saturday and there’s lots of properties so there’s lots of people trying to get to their condos and houses so just be prepared for that.But I would have to say this was our best family vacationWe loved Outer Banks..

Would definitely rent again, house well maintained and clean, wild horses visited are location daily. Beach easily accessible by walking or driving, even though we had to drive 8 miles of 4x4 beach driving it was not an issue and never a dull ride, all 3 husbands enjoyed the drive and rest of family enjoyed the ocean view. Trips into town were positive many places to eat or just grab and ice cream. Grocery stores all easily accessible.

Kaptain’s Treasurer is a beautiful vacation home. Our family appreciated how well thought out the property is for vacation hopes and needs. The 4x4 access only property was a new experience and for first time OBX vacation, this was a full committed experience. The daily observation of the horses was a breathtaking sight. Wonderful family time.
