Lord High Admiral is a charming semi-detached cottage located in the Sudeley Castle Cottage Complex - and one of the most recent to be restored and converted. Lord High Admiral was one of the official titles conveyed upon Sir Thomas Seymour by King Edward VI. Guests staying at the cottage enjoy complimentary entrance to Sudeley Castle & Gardens (during the season).
The accommodation is arranged over two floors. Downstairs, there is a lounge with new contemporary soft furnishings, a dining area, and a fully equipped kitchen. For your entertainment, there is a flat-screen TV and DVD player, whilst a new WiFi system provides you with access to the internet.
Upstairs there is one double bedroom with an en-suite bathroom, and one twin bedroom with a further large bathroom with a walk-in shower immediately adjacent. Fluffy towels and bedding are provided for all guests.
Guests have access to their own outdoor dining table and chairs facing into the cottage courtyard.
Ground Floor
Living/Dining/Kitchen Area:
A bright, well-lit open plan area makes up the downstairs floor of Lord High Admiral. Comfortable sofa seating for 4, coffee table, Freeview TV and DVD player and a good-size dining table and chairs for 4. The kitchen at Lord High Admiral has a discernible country-cottage feel, with fresh-cream coloured cabinets and wooden work surfaces. The kitchen is complete with a Neff cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave, washer/dryer, Russel Hobbs toaster + kettle and Nespresso coffee machine.
First Floor
Bedroom One:
A light and roomy bedroom with a comfortable double bed and plenty of storage, including a dressing table with mirror, wardrobe, and chest of drawers.
En-Suite Bathroom:
A generous-sized, modern en-suite with a shower head over the bath, toilet, and washbasin. You will find in the bathroom complimentary toiletries, a non-slip bath mat, a heated towel rail, and a large storage cupboard.
Family Bathroom:
A roomy family bathroom with a very large walk-in shower, with a fixed overhead rain shower and detachable shower hose, toilet, and washbasin.
Bedroom Two:
An equally light and spacious twin bedroom with two comfortable single beds, a wardrobe, and a chest of drawers.
Outside
Guests have access to an outdoor table and seating for 4 facing the cottage courtyard.

What a delightful and spacious cottage. Having access to Sudeley Castle is a big advantage. It is also very close to the town, shop and pubs. There are many beautiful walks close by. The cottage are done very tasteful inside and has everything you need for your stay. The rooms are big as well as the 2 bathrooms. Would choose this specific cottage anytime again and would recommend it for someone who enjoys a true authentic English country holiday.

Welcome pack was appreciated.
Main bedroom...En suite shower hose was dirty and plastic trim where shower screen meets the bath needs replacing. Low level dust on furniture.
Twin room...nice cushions, not so nice pillows. 2nd bathroom needs a shelf and prompt attention to loose skirting board, mould reaching from there into shower.
Downstairs windows very dirty.
A second rail on the stairs would be helpful for safety.

We walked in to a warm and cosy, clean, beautifully presented cottage with everything provided that you might need for a short break. The Christmas tree was a lovely touch. Great location, quiet and just a short (slightly uphill) walk into Winchcombe.
The only issue was parking. Although there is a large car park, it was full in the evenings. Perhaps marked bays would encourage more considerate parking?

We stayed at this accommodation over the bank holiday weekend. The location is fabulous, just a stroll into the charming Winchcombe. Free admission to the lovely Sudley Castle is a bonus. However the standard of the Lord High Admiral is just not good enough. There are lots of small issues which collectively make this place below standard. The ensuite bathroom in particular needs attention. The window sill is in a poor condition and the shower screen doesn't fit properly and the plastic seal is disgustly dirty. There are marks and chips on the walls. The crockery is cheap, chipped and not matched. The windows in the lounge are dirty. The furniture is old and covered with throws. The whole place needs a complete overhaul. It's such a shame as this is a cosy place with good sized bedrooms and great potential.
