The city of Agrigento has been named the 2025 Italian Capital of Culture!

La Casuzza al Duomo is a project conceived as a continuation of the “Casuzza di Girgenti,” also designed—with the same enthusiasm and creativity—by architect Vincenzo Castelli.

It is a bright, panoramic space that can accommodate up to 2 people and is located in the heart of Agrigento’s historic center—ancient Girgenti—just a short walk from the cathedral!

It is particularly suited to those who appreciate art, thanks to the presence of designer objects and the somewhat irreverent nature of works such as those by Giuseppe Veneziano.

Each piece is a limited edition, numbered, and signed.
It comes with a certificate of authenticity, so responsible use is required.

This is a spacious studio apartment that offers, from the balcony on three sides and from the small terrace covered by a wooden canopy, a splendid view of the cathedral, the sea, and the Valley of the Temples.

A double flight of stairs [31 steps] leads to a spacious, independent studio apartment that is bright and offers panoramic views.

There is a spacious double bedroom with a balcony and a king-size bed that cannot be split, making it particularly suitable for a couple, friends, or family members who don’t mind sleeping together!
Memory foam mattress and pillows, with a hypoallergenic, cool, and dust-mite-resistant mattress cover.
The apartment is air-conditioned and equipped with a table, a clothes rack, a mirror, and a Smart TV.

The air conditioner is a heat pump, so it can both cool and heat the room.

To reduce carbon dioxide emissions and protect the environment, when you leave “Casuzza,” the air conditioner, if turned on, will shut off, and only the courtesy lights and the outlets for charging your devices will remain active.

There is a kitchenette with a two-burner stove, refrigerator, kettle, coffee maker, and microwave.

The bathroom is equipped with a spacious shower [Shower tray: 140×90], a bidet, a hair dryer, a shower cap, and toiletries.

High-speed fiber-optic internet (free Wi-Fi) throughout the entire Casuzza.

La Casuzza al Duomo is located in a hilly area, and access requires climbing a short, wide flight of stairs; it is situated in the heart of Agrigento’s Historic Center, which is nestled on a hill facing the Valley of the Temples and the sea and features a typically Arab urban layout that is among the most authentic and best-preserved in Sicily.

Therefore, I recommend this place to anyone who is captivated by typical narrow alleys, courtyards, and the many staircases that go up and down [not recommended for those with mobility issues] and the numerous lively little squares where you can feel a return to the past, to authenticity.

Outside, in the courtyard below, you’re likely to encounter some cats—mostly napping!

Upon arrival, all guests will be required to present a valid ID for registration, as required by law.
Only registered guests are permitted in La Casuzza.

At check-in, you’ll be required to pay the tourist tax in cash: €1.00 per day per person (for the first 4 days).

There is no daily housekeeping service, but you will find cleaning supplies in the studio apartment.
For stays longer than one week, we offer a complimentary full cleaning of the apartment, including a change of sheets and towels, in consultation with the guest.
There is no washing machine.
We cannot issue an invoice.
