Just a few dozen meters from the villa is the Sasso del Ferro aerial cableway, which takes you in a few minutes to an altitude of over 1,000 meters near a panoramic restaurant overlooking Lake Maggiore and the seven adjacent lakes, with views of Monte Rosa, the Alps, and all the way to Milan. Also near the Villa, you can reach the harbor where a ferry runs continuously between Laveno and Intra, connecting the two shores of Lake Maggiore right in the middle of the lake. In the town of Laveno, you’ll find the typical narrow streets of the Verbano region, as well as various pastry shops, restaurants, and stores in the lakeside village, along with the shaded lakeside promenade.

The dock for the regular ferry service that runs continuously between Laveno and the islands and the main towns around the lake is about 400 meters away. For guests who prefer to sail on their own, a 12-passenger motorboat with a skipper is available at the nearby harbor (price subject to change); the skipper can take you by water to the Borromean Islands or the Castles of Cannero, or—with a one-hour boat ride north— to Locarno or Ascona, or south to Angera or Arona.
Of course, you can also go swimming at the town’s various beaches, all easily accessible on foot.
Malpensa Airport is about a 30-minute drive away, as is Lugano Airport. Milan is just an hour away.
The town of Laveno offers all necessary amenities, including three supermarkets, and has two train stations (Ferrovie dello Stato and Ferrovie Nord) with frequent connections to Milan, Varese, and Switzerland.
