Rising Sun is a peaceful mountain retreat located in the Mt. Mitchell Golf Course Community of Western North Carolina. (Golf course is currently closed) Nestled on 10 private wooded acres at 3,200 feet elevation, this home offers sweeping views looking up the South Toe River valley towards Roan Mountain Tennessee! Our home has modern amenities and convenient access to outdoor adventures. The South Toe/Mount Mitchell Lands area is 30 minutes from Burnsville, 1 hour from Asheville and 2 1/2 hours from Charlotte.
-Unmatched Mountain Views-
Take in stunning long-range views of Roan Mountain (TN) and the Black Mountain Range, including Mount Mitchell, the highest peak east of the Mississippi. Enjoy the views from the covered deck, or unwind in the private hot tub, positioned perfectly for both sunrise and stargazing.
-Comfortable & Spacious Layout-
•Two main-floor master suites with luxury bedding
•Lower level queen bedroom, full bath, laundry, and private TV room
•Bunk room with 4 beds and a sleeper sofa, perfect for kids or extra guests
•High-speed Wi-Fi suitable for remote work or streaming
-Hot Tub Policy-
We clean, drain, and refill the hot tub with hot water after every stay. In the rare event it’s unavailable during your visit, a $15/night credit will be applied—there are not hot tub companies in the area, so repairs can take weeks sometimes.

The fully equipped kitchen includes high-quality cookware and appliances:
•Instant Pot, air fryer, crockpot, Cephalon pots/pans
•Cuisinart toaster oven, food processor, waffle iron, and baking essentials

House was very nice. View was amazing, could even hear the river below. Stunning view. 30 minutes to town but beautiful drive. Loved the hot tub! Lots of extras in kitchen and bathrooms. Great games for kids. Would def recommend!!

This was our second stay at this beautiful home, and somehow it was even better than the first. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with the most breathtaking mountain views, whether you’re enjoying your morning coffee, relaxing on the couch, or watching the sunset light up the sky, it never gets old.The home itself is the perfect mix of cozy and spacious. It was incredibly clean, well-stocked, and had everything we needed to feel right at home. We especially loved the large windows and deck area, such a peaceful place to unwind and take in the scenery.Our family had the best time here, from relaxing inside to exploring nearby and just enjoying being together. Even our pup felt right at home! It’s clear the owners put a lot of care into making this a comfortable and welcoming space.One thing to note, our older daughter was still able to get Uber Eats deliveries, which was a nice surprise in such a mountain location. With some road closures during our stay, deliveries and travel took a little longer, but everything still worked out just fine.We’re already talking about coming back again, this has officially become one of our favorite getaway spots. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful, scenic, and truly relaxing stay!
