Exceptional, main-door first-floor Georgian Apartment modernised and located right at the top of Edinburgh's Royal Mile, less than 2 minutes walk from Edinburgh Castle! Guests will love being so close to the hustle and bustle of Edinburgh's main tourist spot. This property has a 5 star rating on many booking platforms.
You will not find self-catering accommodation closer to Edinburgh Castle with the nearby restaurants, bars and shops of Edinburgh's Royal Mile at the bottom of the stairs!
The apartment is entered via a main door on to the Lawnmarket at the top of The Royal Mile which takes you into a private staircase up to the first floor. This apartment really is in the heart of Edinburgh's tourist district.
It comprises modern kitchen/living room, bathroom with shower, additional shower room and separate WC. There are 4 bedrooms and the apartment comfortably sleeps 8 with space for an additional person on a fold down double sofa bed in one of the bedrooms. Sleeping arrangements as follows;
-Master Double bedroom
-2nd Double bedroom
-3rd Double bedroom (with further double sofa bed although 4 people is a squeeze so better for 2-3 people)
-Bunk bed room (2 single beds)
We also have a luggage/wardrobe room so you can keep the bedrooms nice and clear. The open plan living room/kitchen offers a sociable space with views onto the Royal Mile, below.
From 24 July 2026, a 5% Edinburgh Visitor Levy applies to all stays. All prices shown already include this charge, which we will pay to the City of Edinburgh Council on your behalf.
We provide: Bed Linen, Towels, Toilet Rolls
Guest access to all areas
During the Edinburgh Festival in August and Edinburgh's Hogmany celebrations The Lawnmarket is pedestrian access only which means carrying cases/bags 100 meters or so.

This property is smack in the middle of the Royal Mile making it so convenient for getting around Edinburgh. Only a short walk to the train station too. My only wish would be to have hanging racks in all the bedrooms or even one in the luggage room because 2 of 4 rooms had nowhere to hang clothes. Lovely place to stay overall, worth every penny.

Location was perfect for our family of five to see all of the sights! We loved the charm of the apartment and the nightly entertainment from street performers was a pleasant surprise. Owner was extremely helpful with all of our questions and very quick to respond. We greatly appreciate the bag storage while the apartment was turned over. Highly recommend for families and friends alike!

The location was amazing. You are right in the heart of old town and on the royal mile. We were there for Hogmanay and the parade came right past the apartment and for new years we walked up about 200 yards to the castle and watched the fireworks. The owners were great and helpful to store bags when we arrived into town early. The place was perfect for our group of 8 and had everything we needed. Would definitely come back and stay!!!
