La Calcara, an arquitectural prize winning design Villa, sits in the middle of a 7.5 acres private estate that runs from the Amalfitan road all the way to the sea . It is surrounded by lemon, orange and olive orchards, that toghether with bouganvilleas in a typical gently terraced landscape they create the classic postcard Mediterranean atmosphere. Natural surroundings are astounding . The sea is blue with shades of turqouise, dolphins and marine life can be seen both from the private bay that the Villa has exclusive access to, and from the pool area. In the water fishes are schooling and it looks like an aquarium. Scenes from every corner of the property and the sounds of nature work to make its own ultimate beauty .The scents outrageously present in the air, and the colors of the joyous local architecture are shimmering with all their intensity. The lucky guests who will be able to come will be able to see the Amalfi Coast in all of its splendour.
THE POOL AREA
Its large infinity sea water pool wiith its 18mx8m in size creates the feeling of being suspended upon the Mediterranean sea. Guarenteeing water temperature always in excess of 75º F (24ºC), the pool is HEATED with two powerful 24kw heat pumps in the months of March(second half), April, May, September, October and November(first half). The pool water, being directly pumped from the sea, is treated with the ozonator system that eliminates chlorine and other chemicals thus preserving the natural flavour of the mediterranean sea below. The result is having the sea below the Villa, delivered up to the house pool area, all for a stunning swimming experience from March 15th to November 15th.
POSITION
The property is entirely exposed to the south, located on the coastal stretch from CapoDorso to Maiori, facing directly Amalfi, Ravello and Conca De Marini. The sun rises to the east over a 12th century neighbouring Norman Tower, crosses the Med over the south , and sets over the bay of Amalfi to the west, with the result of illuminating all premises from sunrise to dusk.
Nearest sea, our own at the property sea bay. Nearest sandy beach is Cavallo Morto, at 500m, by water taxi. Nearest restaurants in Maiori at 5 minute car drive. Amalfi at 20m car drive, Ravello 25 minutes drive, Pomepei at 30 minutes ride.
THE HOUSE
Stepping into the house you will find the main sitting room from where you acces the fully equipped modern kitchen and to a panoramic terrace overlooking an authentic Norman tower, the mediterranean sea and a lush forest with an encrusted 11th century Byzantyne monastery in the background.
From the living room you also access 4 of the total 6 BEDROOMS , the shaded and furnished east terrace, and to the swimming pool path out on the west side. TWO (2) ADDITIONAL DETACHED BEDROOMS form part of the Villa : one with a queen size double bed with en-suite bathroom, which is part of the main house and has an indipendent access, and one with two single beds and separate bathroom two meters away from the main house. The Villa features air-conditioning in the main living room and in each bedroom.
THE EXCLUSIVE SEA ACCESS
From the house through a private path you have exclusive land access to the sea, where you can dive into the water through a sun bathing platform or one of the two natural grottos. To finish up the blissfull feeling of being in a true oasis there is a waterfall, with its sparkling mountain water cascading into the turquoise sea.
LA NAVE POINT
In the property, from the pool area there is a path that leads to the most panoramic spot of this part of thea Amalfi Coast. It is a headland 40 meters above sea level that protrutes into the heart of the Amalfi Bay. From there you can relax, meditate or just take photos with amazing backgrounds.
ACCESSIBILITY
The villa is reached from the main coastal road, by accessing via the property main gate. Just in front of the gate there is the SITA bus stop. After crossing the the property gate you would drive aprox 200 yards through the estate on a private road to reach the Villa's 5 car parking area. From there, it is just a 20 yard plain surface walk to the house entrance, no steps involved. . The pool area is at 30yards from the main house, and there are 15 steps to walk down or up to or from it.

How can I possibly give Ulrico and Villa La Calcara-Italy a thousand stars ? All of the pre-planning support Ulricio offered us was above and beyond!!! The villa is beautiful and perfect for our family of nine!!! The pool, the grotto, the rooms and the views… WOW!!Anthony from White Taxi Service-Amalfi Coast) is by far the best of the best when it comes to customer care! He made each day touring the coast so special for us. He helped us organize our tours, reservations and offered us the best suggestions of what to do to make our vacation so memorable! If you haven’t already booked Anthony for your trip, you really need to!! Captain Giovanni of Gozza Nuvolo Rossa was so sweet and kind to us during our trip to Capri. He had snacks and champagne and when our trip took a sudden different turn (due to my shoulder dislocating) Captain jumped into action and safely got me back to the marina to an awaiting ambulance! He even came to the hospital to make sure I was okay and kept checking in on me days afterwards. And then there is the amazing team at the villa of Caterina, Rosario and Carmela who kept us so well fed! So many delicious meals!! Home-cooked meals on vacation are rare! Caterina was so kind and ensured that we had everything we could possibly need. The villa was so clean and so well taken care of for us!! We will never forget this trip and our stay at Villa La Calcara!! You are all very special!!

The house exceeded our expectations! We loved the well stocked kitchen and enjoyed the pool area so much. We were a group of 9 - ages 16 to 75. The home was spotless and check in easy. Parking was spacious which was a relief as we were worried about space. The host was very quick to answer any questions I had. Many thanks for a fantastic stay!

We learned our way after having to constantly reset the circuit breakers every 10 minutes with the fear that a week’s worth of food would spoil should the insufficient power for the house cause the loss of power while we were out for the day. Advice: Don’t run the tiny washing machine while the A/C is on in more than one room. This was particularly troubling during a heavy and prolonged period of rain when it was necessary to go outside while standing in a pool of water to reset the circuit breaker. To make matters worse, the A/C unit in our newly weds bedroom failed late in the week when temperatures were peaking and the only solution offered was a fan for the remainder of their stay. Other than that, we found the views stunning, the kitchen, while very small, was properly supplied with all devices needed for the preparation of large meals, and the indoor and outdoor dining areas were all ideal for a group of 10. It was a good thing we didn't need more bedding because any additional bedding, for up to 14 persons, would have required the unfolding of a stacked mattress in one room and the use of a very dark and uninviting set of twin bunk beds and an almost industrial looking bathroom in an area below and away from the house. A final word of advice: rely on the wonderful taxi service provided by Anthony of White Taxi The roads are narrow along the Amalfi Coast, and the driveway down to the house is even more narrow and incredibly stressful to navigate.
