THE NEIGHBORHOOD
Plaka is the old historical neighborhood of Athens, clustered around the northern and eastern slopes of the Acropolis, and incorporating labyrinthine streets and neoclassical architecture. It is located between Syntagma and Monastiraki square. Adrianou Street (running north and south) is the largest and most central street in Plaka.
There are plenty of shops, restaurants, and coffee shops in the neighborhood. Nearby is Ermou street, which is the main shopping street of Athens.
Please also be aware that there may be noise from the bars located downstairs, particularly during the evenings. We recommend this property for guests who are comfortable with a lively atmosphere.
GETTING AROUND
Metro / Underground is the most convenient mean of transit for the location. Syntagma Station is only a 5 min walk away (450m), from where you have access to Lines 2 and 3 (the 2 Metro lines of the city).
All Public transport (Bus and Tram) is also easily accessible from the location within 5 min walk.

The other reviews were extremely helpful and accurate on the noise that comes from the bars at the front of the apartment on the weekend nights, but as long as you are in the back room, you cannot hear it at all. The location was 10/10 in terms of being able to walk to Syntagma Square, restaurants, shops, the Parthenon, etc. We had a few things to contact the host about and they were quick to respond and helpful! The detailed check-in instructions with photos made check-in seamless and anything we had questions about at the property was clearly addressed in the binder there in the apartment.We enjoyed our stay here and would recommend!

The apartment is very pleasant - not wonderful but nice enough for a busy few days in Athens. The location is excellent - incredibly central to lots of great places in the city. If noise bothers you, keep in mind that there is a very popular, busy and loud late night (closes at 2am) bar right outside the door. The bedroom is in the back so it is quiet, but if someone is sleeping on the sofa bed, it is rather noisy.Athens is amazing!

This is a lovely apartment in a great location, you can walk to all the major attractions from here. In the whole week we were here, we didn't take the subway, metro, bus once. We walked everywhere. There are lots of restaurants in the area. The apartment was very comfortable and has everything you could need for a short stay. There are a couple of bars right across the street and it does get loud on Friday and Saturday night.
Our only criticism would be the lack of communication between us, the property manager and the cleaning staff. We had made arrangements with the manager to delay our checkout until 1PM. We packed just about everything in the morning and then went out for lunch. We were shocked to come home at 12:45 to find the cleaning staff were in, almost finished their entire cleaning and had packed our suitcases and moved all our stuff into the hallway of the apartment. It truly feels like a huge invasion of privacy to have strangers going through our luggage. The manager had our phone number and email and could have contacted us, we could have returned to the apartment and finished our packing ourselves. The manager apologized but the damage had been done. As lovely as the apartment was, I don't think we would go back. It was an unfortunate end to a lovely week in Athens.
