The train station, also just 5 minutes away, provides direct access without a car to Arcachon and its beaches (trains every 30 minutes) and Bordeaux (trains every 30 minutes), and allows travelers to arrive from Paris in 3 hours.
The Port de la Hume (a 15-minute bike ride away) offers summer shuttles to Cap Ferret. You can board with your bikes.

If you feel like taking to the open sea, there are regular boat shuttles from the Thiers jetty in Arcachon to Cap Ferret (it's best to book online), Ile aux oiseaux and the famous cabanes tchanquées! The arguin bank, transparent water, paradise on earth! Descent of the Leyre River, at the Le Teich ornithological park, choose to be accompanied by a guide or alone with your kayak!
