Apartment located in the historic center of Funchal, a few minutes walk from the city center, just below Forte do Pico.
House recently restored and transformed into two independent T1 apartments.
It presents a modern design, very comfortable and welcoming, with a magnificent view over the bay of Funchal, making it possible, at the New Year's Eve party, to watch and enjoy the fantastic firework display on the common terrace of the building (2 apartments) .
Consisting of a spacious bedroom (double bed) with complete private bathroom, a cozy living room with a sofa bed (2 people) and a fully equipped kitchen.
It has a private garage for one car (parking B), without any additional cost.
Excellent geographical location, close to the access to highways, so you can move around the island and enjoy the beautiful natural landscapes, and very close to the historic center of Funchal, and you can even get around on foot.
Wi-Fi is free.
Legal Requirements and Taxes Imigration and Borders Services Hotel operators, complementary tourist accommodation or tourist resorts, as well as those units supplying accommodation in return of payment are required by law to communicate to SEF (Imigration and Borders Services) the identity of all foreign citizens, even those from within Schegen space, no later than three days after their check in. The requested information is: Full name; Date and Country of birth; Country of residence; Nationality; Identity document, number of document and Issuing country. It was close to the center and the marine. The apartment was excellent, with a great view. The only disadventage was the narrow street and the garage, because it was hard to park there, but 100m downhill was a cheap car park, so you can park there. We enjoyed our stay a lot. It was wonderful.

The apartment was great for two of us for one week. Access and communications were good. Shower was hot with adequate power. Bed was comfortable. Kitchen could do with some essentials, seasoning, oil, vinegar etc. but we ate out in the main. Town easy to access, 10 minutes downhill. Slower coming back uphill! We especially enjoyed watching the cruise liners come in and out of the harbour. Madeira/Funchal does have extremely steep narrow roads which you should be aware of if renting a vehicle. We hired a motorbike and were grateful for the garage space. Getting a car into the space would have been interesting!

The position is good to reach every part of the island and quite close to shops and restaurants.

The apartment itself was lovely…very clean and tastefully decorated, and it met almost all of my needs. Finding and getting to the apartment was insane. The only way to get to it is to drive up a narrow one way street/hill the WRONG way. And the hill is so steep it’s like being on a roller coaster. Once you make it up the hill, you drive along a very narrow alleyway to get to the apartment and garage. The rental car I was in sustained damage from scraping the cement wall opposite the garage. If you stay here and rent a car, do yourself a favor and get the smallest one you can. The apartment also has no air conditioning or window screens. It is close enough to the harbor/town that you can walk, but beware of those hills coming home! Judite was lovely and responsive. I only wish she had been more proactive in giving me directions to the apartment, knowing I was driving a rental from the airport.
