Villa El is a brand new villa in the famous Lake Kournas area, just 4 km from the beaches of Crete’s north coast. This modern, refined villa packed with amenities offers 4 bedrooms to accommodate up to 7/8 people.
Outside there is a fantastic private pool, and an area equipped with an outdoor kitchen, table and chairs. Less than 1 km away is Lake Kournas, where you can rent small rowboats and explore the lake’s clear waters, take lovely walks, or eat in one of this spot’s many restaurants. There are beaches, with beach clubs and without, just 4 km from the property.
At guests’ disposal: 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms; air conditioning in the entire house; private garden and pool with whirlpool area ( heated up to 30 - 35 degrees upon request, without extra costs); outdoor cooking and dining area; washer and dryer; Wifi internet; parking.
Distances: Lake Kournas (shops and restaurants) 1 km away, Georgioupolis (shops of all kinds, beaches) 4 km, Rethymno 23 km, Almyrida 30 km, Chania 40 km, airport 50 km, Heraklion 100 km, the famous Palace of Knossos 105 km.

My family and I, of which there was 6 of us, spent 10 days at this wonderful property.
The premises are extremely modern and very welcoming with beautiful décor and tiling/flooring throughout with 4 distinctive double bedrooms.
The pool area had a wonderful pool with a jacuzzi as well, plus 3 islands with two built in sunbeds on each island.
The outside dinning area is superb and we spent many an evening on the patio after having enjoyed a BBQ with a few glasses of wine, However, when we were not so keen on cooking there were several local restaurants offering excellent local cuisine which was also more than affordable.
The location is extremely quiet with the exception of the sheep who run by the property mid morning and return late afternoon with their small bells ringing under their necks which was lovely to witness!
Finally, our host was exceptional and could not do enough to assist our various requests for numerous pieces of information, plus taking the time to ensure we were enjoying ourselves. In fact, the lady was just a lovely person who could not do enough for us.
For a location of seclusion and pure luxury, whilst surrounded with peace & quiet & stunning mountain views then this represents an ideal property for a holiday/break in my opinion.

We had a fantastic stay at this villa in Chania. The host was excellent, always on hand for anything, and even brought us delicious homemade food. The villa was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped, with a great pool, a brilliant BBQ area, and stunning views. We also used the local masseuse, who came to the villa — the massages were excellent and very reasonably priced. The location was peaceful yet just a short drive to shops, tavernas, beaches, and a local supermarket that has everything you need. Our children loved watching the goats walk up the road each day. We would also highly recommend the local butcher in Georgioupolis for BBQ supplies. A perfect base for exploring Crete — we’d definitely return!

A Perfect Family Getaway – Peaceful, Welcoming, and Full of Adventure
We had a wonderful stay in a lovely location that was ideal for a family holiday. The accommodation was excellent — clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. It’s tucked away just enough to feel peaceful, yet still close to the sea, lake, and other amenities.
The lake is just a short and easy walk away, with a few shops and plenty of places to eat nearby. A day at the lake is a must for all the family — relaxing and fun. The supermarket is around 3km away and walkable, I’d recommend driving if you have kids.
There are some great places to eat in the area. Georgia’s is just a short walk and perfect for a traditional meal. A 10-minute drive takes you to The Salty Goat, right on the beach and has a fantastic vibe. Georgioupoli is also nearby 5-10min dirve and offers lovely shops, great dining options, and a fantastic butcher (Kafkalas) — perfect for BBQ lovers!
One of the highlights of our trip was a 4hr Quad bike safari into the mountains. It was an amazing experience and the kids absolutely loved it — highly recommended!
Finally, a huge thank you to our host, Katerina. She was incredibly attentive and welcoming, with great local knowledge. She surprised us with delicious homemade treats every few days, which made our stay feel extra special. Her hospitality truly made our holiday top-class.

If I could I’d give this 7STARS!!!! First of all, can I say, one of the negative reviews below made me panic a few days before our trip and I was worried about what we were going to arrive to. As a person who ALWAYS books amazing hotels & villas. THIS DID NOT DISAPPOINT. This place needs the reviews upping to make sure people know how incredible it is. From Katerina the host, everyday making sure we’re ok, bringing delicious Greek delicacies, she was in hand whenever we needed her. The Villa is so so stunning, EXACTLY like the pictures. It’s in a typically rural Greek village which is SAFE but just slightly out of the way (5-10 mins from everything) but that’s exactly what we wanted. Peace and quiet. The views were spectacular. The most beautiful thing to see were the goats every morning on the lane going down to be milked, it was just the most gorgeous alarm. If you want, luxurious, clean, peaceful Morden Greek vibes, THIS is your perfect destination! 11/10 thank you so much!!!
