Fishing available on-site. Enjoying spectacular views across the Meden Valley, this comfortably appointed, semi-detached bungalow makes a great base for a relaxing break. Coarse fishing, shooting, archery, plus knife and axe throwing are available 200 yards away at Woodend farm complex and there are many good cycle routes and walks throughout the area. The immediate surrounding land is classed as a conservation area, and 3 miles away is Hardwick Hall, as is Sutton-in-Ashfield, which is home to a leisure centre with an indoor swimming pool and ice rink. Newstead Abbey and Sherwood Forest are also close by. Explore the nearby Peak District, spend a day at Chatsworth House, follow the Five Pits Trail or simply enjoy the stunning views either from inside the property, or outside on the decking. There is a games room for both children and adults. In the village, there is an 18-hole golf course available an a day rate. Conveniently, there is a boarding kennels and cattery close by, where day boarding is available by arrangement with the owners. The games room is exclusive to this property, also adjacent to the property guests have access to 3 acres of public recreation land. The owner of the property lives in the annex which has its own entrance, should you require any assistance. Shop ¾ mile, pub and restaurant ¼ mile.

We stayed at Woodend Bungalow and loved every minute of being there .. kids enjoyed games room and open fields at the back. The house is equipped with everything for a very comfortable stay for 10 people .. tesco and co op are 3 mins drive away .. there was milk in the fridge left by the host alongwith home made cake and tea and coffee .. there was damp smell in the games room but it was bearable.. the games room had everything to keep teenage children occupied for hours .. kids dint touch their devices and spent most of their time playing table tennis and darts and other board games .. the hosts have provided everything from towels to hairdryers, toiletries , even a coffee machine .. it is a tassimo coffee machine and there was cafetière too. We took lots of things from home but didnt really use them because kitchen was equipped with everything u need to cook food . Foil, cling film, kitchen towel, dishwasher tablet etc, were also provided .. one thing to note is the dogs barking in the morning but you cant hear them in the rooms at the back .. people who slept in the rooms at the front of the property complained about it but it was hardly noticeable in the rooms at the back of the property.. all in all it was a very pleasant stay and we will definitely book again.

very warm welcome. great accommodation with the benefit of the games room for the younger members to amuse themselves, and a dog room for the 4 legged family members. fabulous walks round about
