Standing in ¾ of an acre garden, this superb, house is perfect for large family holidays. Hamilton Lodge with its annex will sleep 12 in comfort, however for a smaller group, particularly as we welcome up to 3 pets, it can also provide flexible and very spacious holiday accommodation to spread out between the two properties. Featuring a sitting room/kitchen which is a delightful vaulted area with French windows opening onto the patio and garden. The main accommodation is extremely spacious with a charming ground floor living room which leads to a bright and airy garden room, as well as a sitting room on the first floor which opens onto a stunning balcony with far reaching sea views. The open plan kitchen/dining room is ideal for enjoying family meals, and the enclosed lawned gardens give children and dogs a place to run and play. From the gate at the far end of the garden, visitors can take a stroll along the public footpath which leads down to the dog-friendly sandy beach.
The surrounding area offers numerous countryside walks and cycling trails, ideal for nature lovers. Barmston village pub offers a warm welcome, home cooked meals and a choice of fine wines and beer, and there is also an authentic Italian restaurant at the top of the village. Further along the coastline is the traditional seaside resort of Bridlington with its miles of sandy beaches, elegant promenades and historic harbour. Enjoy the funfair and donkey rides on the beach, or join a fishing boat trip or a pleasure cruise. The land train transports visitors from the town centre to Sewerby Hall and Gardens, providing a great day out with the historic collections, children’s playground, zoo and putting green. Bird lovers will enjoy RSPB Bempton Cliffs and Hornsea Mere and stately homes, which can be found at Burton Agnes and Burton Constable. Further inland are the scenic Yorkshire Wolds which inspired the famous Hockney paintings, as well as the market town of Beverley and historic city of York, which are easily accessible. Beach 100 yards. Shop ½ miles and restaurant 1½ miles.

We had a fantastic week at Hamilton Lodge for a much needed family holiday. The house suited our needs and actually exceeded our expectations. We had 5 adults and 5 children and the sheer amount of space on offer was perfect, the annexe was absolutely ideal for those who wanted time alone and the amount of seating in the whole house was perfect. On arrival the house was very clean and each bedroom smelt of fresh linen and the beds were very comfortable. All bathrooms were finished well and super clean. The garden was our children’s favourite, football, rounders , tennis and water fights galore !!! The children wanted to pick up the garden and bring it home !!! (Hopefully the gardener has more luck catching the mole , we started the week with 4 molehills and when we left we counted over 20!!! ) Our favourite area was the upstairs sun room which led out to the fantastic balcony where we saw the Perseid meteor shower and so so many shooting stars !!! The beach was a mere 10 min walk and you could hear and see the sea from upstairs which was very relaxing. The shop on the campsite up the road was only a 10 min walk but very expensive but as Bridlington was only a 10 min drive we shopped there as there was Tesco, Morrisons or Lidl to choose from ! One niggle was the sheer amount of ingrained bird poop on the upstairs bedroom window and rail, we would have cleaned it ourselves but there was so much !!!! But that is only a small criticism and certainly didn’t detract from the fantastic week !!! You have a beautiful house and thank you for sharing it.
