A short drive from the pretty village of Thornton le Dale and the ancient market town of Pickering where one can board the North York Moors steam train, sit back and relax as it chugs its way through the glorious Esk Valley into Goathland, Heartbeat’s very own village. The ancient sea port of Whitby famed for its connection with Captain James Cook and Bram Stoker’s Dracula and the elegant seaside town of Scarborough are just a short drive. Dalby Forest boasting cycle tracks, bridle paths, off roading and stunning barbecue and picnic areas easily accessed.
