Welcome to Clear Creek Retreat at the Maxwell Estate — a place where families come to unplug, explore, and create memories together.

Set on a privately owned 140-acre family farm that has remained in the Maxwell family for over 150 years, this peaceful retreat sits in a mountain valley surrounded by open pastures, wooded trails, and sweeping natural views. For five generations, this land has been lived on, worked, and carefully preserved — and today, it’s a place where guests are invited to experience the beauty and rhythm of country life.

Children can roam the yard, explore trails, or watch farm animals graze, while adults unwind in the private hot tub under the stars or gather around the fire pit in the evenings. All of this, just minutes from downtown Hendersonville and within easy reach of Asheville, wineries, orchards, and mountain adventures.

This is a stay that blends space, simplicity, and connection — perfect for families, couples, and pet lovers looking for something more meaningful than a typical vacation rental.

Clear Creek Retreat is part of a working family farm, and that’s a big part of its charm.

Guests may see daily farm activities, including caring for livestock, hay production, and general property care.

The farm is home to friendly goats and miniature donkeys who love to roam the pastures, greet new faces, and hope for a treat.

As a rural property, guests should expect natural sights and sounds — including wildlife and the occasional farm noise.

Trails, fields, and water features are part of a natural environment; children and pets should be supervised while exploring.

Although the setting feels peaceful and tucked away, the home is conveniently located near town, offering the best of both worlds.

For many families, these details become the most memorable part of their stay — giving kids a chance to experience farm life, space to explore, and time together that feels slower and more meaningful.
