Tucked within the rolling hills and lush forests of Hocking Hills, Ohio, the Oakwood Cabin at Cedar Grove Lodging and Retreat offers a cozy, rustic escape on 65 acres of pristine woodland. Perfect for families, couples, or groups, this 3-bedroom cabin blends natural charm with modern comforts, ideal for exploring the beauty of Hocking Hills.
Exterior and Setting: The Oakwood Cabin, a 1,300-square-foot log structure crafted from local woods, sits on our 65 acre property surrounded by towering trees and seasonal wildflowers. Its warm wooden exterior complements the Hocking Hills landscape. A spacious front porch with chairs and a swing invites guests to unwind, while a fire pit with seating is perfect for stargazing or storytelling. The cabin is a short walk from shared amenities, including hiking trails and a fishing pond. Parking for three+ vehicles is available, with easy access via a gravel drive, year-round.
Interior Layout and Amenities: Inside, the open-plan great room features vaulted ceilings a gas fireplace. The fully equipped kitchen includes granite countertops, full-sized appliances, and cookware for home-cooked meals. A custom log table accommodates eight.
The cabin sleeps eight across three bedrooms: Upper level Bedroom: King-size bed; Two lower level bedrooms: Queen-size bed, with access to a shared full bathroom (tub/shower combo). All bedrooms have ample storage, ceiling fans, and blackout curtains. A queen futon in the lower level provides that extra sleeping for larger groups.
Amenities include air conditioning, heating, free Wi-Fi, a large flat-screen Streaming HD TV and a selection of DVDs for entertainment and provided linens and toiletries. In our onsite guest services building there are a washer and dryer, Board games, books, DVD, outdoor games and more!!!
Outdoor Features and Activities: The private wraparound deck offers a dining table, chairs, a gas grill and hot tub, overlooking the forest and nearby fishing pond.

Reservations & Fees
Your rental rate is based on your dates, cabin/lodge, number of guests (all ages count), pets, and any add-ons. Please let us know if any of this changes before your arrival.
* Guests & Visitors: Each unit has a maximum occupancy. No extra visitors or overnight guests are allowed unless approved in advance. Approved daytime visitors are subject to daily and/or event fees. Unauthorized visitors/guests will result in standard fees plus a $75 penalty per daily occurrence.
* Vendors: Any outside vendors (caterers, DJs, photographers, rental companies, etc.) must be pre-approved and sign our vendor agreement.

Pets
We love pets, but to keep things safe and clean:
* Pets must be approved in advance, with the pet fee paid. Unauthorized pets = pet fee + $75 penalty.
* Pets should not be left alone unless crated, and owners must clean up after them.
* Service animals (per Ohio law) are exempt from fees but may be charged for damages. They cannot be left away from their owner.
* Emotional Support Animals are not service animals and are subject to regular pet policies/fees.

Payments
* Direct Bookings can be made up to 2 years in advance.
* 50% deposit secures your reservation; the balance is due 30 days before arrival. Reservations within 30 days require full payment.
* Non-payment may result in cancellation.
* Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and AmEx are accepted. Cashier’s checks require an additional refundable deposit of 50%.
* Non-direct bookings through Airbnb follow Airbnb’s payment policies.

* Check-in: After 4:00 p.m. (please note: hot tubs may take several hours to heat).
* Check-out: By 11:00 a.m.
* Early arrival/late departure: Up to 2 hours may be available with prior approval and payment of the appropriate fee. Unapproved early/late access = $75 for every 15 minutes.

* 21+ to rent a cabin.
* 25+ to rent a lodge.
* Proof of age is required at booking.

Property Use & House Rules
* No camping: Tents, RVs, and campers are not permitted.
* No smoking indoors or in hot tubs: Includes cigarettes, cigars, e-cigs, vaping, and marijuana. A $500 cleaning fee applies if violated. Please dispose of butts properly outdoors.
* Cleaning: Please bag trash, wash dishes, and leave the unit tidy. Excess cleaning may result in charges.
* Damages/Theft: You’re responsible for damages or missing items. Report any issues immediately.
* Furniture/Electronics: Please don’t move furniture or alter electronics. Instructions are in your welcome book.
* Noise/Privacy: Respect other guests. County-wide quiet hours are 10 p.m.–8 a.m. Guests found violating county noise ordinances will result in termination of the rental agreement and must leave the property. They are also subject to fines and arrest by local law enforcement.
* Safety: Follow posted safety rules around the property.

* We do our best to keep everything in good order, but occasionally hot tubs, HVAC, appliances, internet, or power may be unavailable due to service needs or weather. We’ll address issues quickly, but refunds cannot be given.
* Hot tubs may take several hours to warm up after cleaning.
* Don’t overload refrigerators on arrival—it may take up to 24 hours to stabilize after being loaded.
* Fireplaces are available October–April.

* Fishing pond: Catch-and-release only. No fishing license is required. Registered Guests only. No swimming.
* No hunting at any time.
* No fireworks, firearms, or weapons.

* Park only in designated areas—no driving or parking on grass or wooded areas.
* Prohibited Yard/Outdoor Items:
* Slip‑and‑slides, inflatable slides, kiddie pools, water features, or similar water‑based activities are not permitted.
* Event tents, canopies, or temporary structures are not allowed unless pre‑approved in writing.
* Water balloons, confetti, glitter, or any non‑biodegradable items are strictly prohibited anywhere on the property.
* Campfires: Allowed only in provided fire pits. Burn firewood only and extinguish completely.
* Respect neighbors: No trespassing on adjoining properties.

The cabin was perfect for a long weekend of hiking at Hocking Hills State park. It was so close to all the trails and sights yet felt so remote. we couldn’t see any other cabins when we sat on the front porch, and loved getting the morning sun while outside drinking my coffee. We cooked in every meal and found the kitchen well stocked. I was thankful we had a jeep for the entry drive, but I think any car can manage the hill. The hot tub was very clean and we really enjoyed soaking in it every night. I wished the fire pit was out front like some of the other cabins, but it was just a short walk into the woods. We still enjoyed a fire one night and there are plenty of places to stop and get firewood close by. We will definitely return! Thank you for allowing our dog to come with us. He loved all the hikes and being a part of the adventure. Highly recommend.

No on-site washer and dryer as said in the listing! Also additional charges for every guest. The cabin sleeps 6 and the price difference between 2 adults and 4 adults and 2 kids is over100. I'm already paying a premium for the size of the cabin. Why the 100 charge to use it? I want to clarify we did not have more people than the place had beds for. The place was clean though.

We had a wonderful time. The cabin was very cozy and clean. The hot tub was wonderful. We went hiking everyday and came back and got in the hot tub and we even did a little fishing at the pond behind the cabin. Everything was perfect except the bed frame on the king size bed on the main floor is very squeaky. Every time you sit or roll over you could hear it through the whole cabin. Other than that it was perfect and we would definitely come back

The cabin is very nice. Communications with the host went very well. The cabin was very clean and had many appliances in the kitchen for guests to use.
