Summary:

The Post Masters House is a stylish 4-bed family home with open plan living space, kingsize bedroom, shower room and WC on the ground floor. The second floor with full bathroom, two double bedrooms and a children’s bunk room. It is newly refurbished with a vibrant interior and quality furniture. Courtyard garden with Astroturf. Central Frome location, minutes walk from the train station. Free street parking on Victoria Road. Please note some potential for road noise, usually quieter at night.



The Space:

This former Post Masters House built in the 1900s has large open plan living, and many retained original Victorian features, high ceilings, big sash windows (all double glazed), ornate plasterwork and an original colourful tiled entrance.



The ground floor comprises a large open-plan living space with dining for 8, and double doors leading to a small sunny courtyard garden, with child-friendly Astroturf and BBQ. For your convenience a dishwasher, washer/dryer and coffee-making facilities.



There is also an accessible king bedroom plus a shower room on the ground floor. Upstairs there are two further double bedrooms, a bunk room (suitable for adults) and a family bathroom with a roll-top bath and shower. The bedrooms have comfortable mattresses, hotel-quality linens and large bath sheets for all guests. We provide Faith in Nature toiletries for guests to use during their stay.



This is a great location as close to the Station Approach a vibey Frome entertainment hot spot with a multitude of food options, beer, wine and live music. Plus, minutes away you can pick up the path through Rodden Meadow to the heart of trendy Frome and all of its independent shops, cafes and restaurants. Frome is a buzzing and vibrant Town and being a central location please do be aware that some road noise should be expected. Please read our reviews from previous guests if you are unsure. We do provide ear plugs for lighter sleepers.



Guest Access:

The whole house is yours to use with no restrictions.



Parking is free along Victoria Rd, there are usually spaces reasonably close to the house but unfortunately there is no dedicated parking.



There are a few steps up into the property and down into the courtyard garden.



There is an accessible bedroom on the ground floor with shower room next to it.



The Neighborhood:

Highlighted as one of the Times "Best Places to Live in Britain", Frome is a welcoming, charming, and vibrant town with a rich history, culture, and natural beauty. It is packed with historic buildings, independent shops, and creative individuals, making it an inspiring and unique destination. Frome's historic center is filled with architectural interest and a thriving contemporary arts scene.



As the original Somerset Market Town, Frome hosts regular markets on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, along with 'The Frome Independent Market' on the first Sunday of each month from March to December. This market attracts thousands of visitors and showcases local food, artists, designers, produce, and entertainment.



Frome also features specialty shops, arts venues, galleries, and a growing reputation as a hub for creative industries. The town hosts various events throughout the year, including the Frome Festival, the Frome Agricultural Cheese Show, the Carnival, and the Frome Christmas Extravaganza.



Outdoor enthusiasts can explore the surrounding nature, including Cley Hill, Orchardleigh, the Frome river, and East Woodlands. Wildlife lovers can spot horses, sheep, cows, dragonflies, kites, and buzzards in the area.



Additionally, nearby attractions like Babington House, the Newt, Hauser and Wirth Gallery, Stourhead and the cities of Bath, Glastonbury and Wells offer fantastic cultural experiences.



Getting Around:

Parking

The best option for parking is on Victoria Road which is only a few strides from the property. Guests may wish to unload on the wide pavement outside of the property prior to finding a convenient parking space.



Train

The nearby Frome train station offers frequent services to Bath and Bristol, providing convenient transportation options from London and other areas.



Taxi

It's best to pre book a taxi to and from the train station. Call Shawn at Smile Taxis to arrange.



Bus

Excellent bus links connect to neighboring towns such as Glastonbury and Wells. Frequent busses to Bath and Trowbridge. The bus stops are along Portway, the two main bus stops are located in town outside Boots.



Other Things to Note:

The fire place in the living room is decorative only and does not function.



Please note that there is a potential for road noise during the daytime, it is much quieter at night. To combat all rooms, have triple-interlined curtains and double-glazing—earplugs provided for the lighter sleepers.



We do have quiet hours between 10pm and 6am in respect of our neighbours.



Check in is at 4pm and checkout is at 10am.



Early check-in/Late check out can be offered by availability at £15 per hour



A cot and highchair can be provided per stay at an extra cost:

£10 for highchair

£20 for a cot.
