Located on the beautiful west side of Vashon Island, this is a unique, renovated waterfront home on a privately owned sandy beach with a seasonal floating dock. It has an expansive, spectacular 180-degree view of Puget Sound facing Gig Harbor to the south, the Kitsap Peninsula to the west and Mount Baker to the north. There is no other place on the island quite like it. It is a great spot for a memorable and relaxing family vacation. Our 3-bedroom home is beautifully furnished to make you feel comfortable and at home. The refinished wooden walls give it a warm, rustic, retreat atmosphere. You can enjoy the view from the inside of the house or comfortably sit on the west and north facing wrap around deck. The beautiful westward water view is relaxing and breathtaking. You may experience colorful sunsets, glistening calm or whitecap and windy stormy waters. Every day is a unique experience, never the same. The property is accessible to smaller boats during the spring, summer and early fall using our floating dock.
The largest bedroom is furnished with a queen size bed, the middle guest room has a full-size double bed, and the smallest bedroom has a single twin bed. The house sleeps a maximum of 5 guests.
We have a flexible cancellation policy and are following all VRBO recommended cleaning and disinfecting protocols. It is our top priority for visitors to stay healthy and feel safe.
The kitchen is fully equipped with modern appliances including dishwasher and microwave oven as well as fresh coffee and tea. Towels, fresh bedding, shampoo and soaps are provided. The bathroom is a 3/4 bath with walk in shower. There is a full laundry area with washer and dryer for your convenience.
The living room is comfortably furnished and has a Smart TV with HDMI cable, DVD player and Echo Dot. Free Wi-Fi, Netflix, Apple TV, Amazon Prime and Disney Plus are included.
The dining room seats 6. The kitchen is open to the dining area where there is extra counter seating.
Our sandy beach is home to a variety of sea life, mammals and birds. You will likely see eagles, blue heron, the occasional sea otter, seal or orca whale if you keep your eyes to the water. There is a large sand dollar bed and multiple shellfish along the beach. Sand toys for children are provided.
We are located about 5 minutes from the center of town for quick access to the local scene. Vashon Island is a small community, home to many artists, musicians, farmers, theatre, restaurants, coffee shops, shopping and much more. You may choose to attend Island events and visit landmarks and local businesses or decide to just experience a relaxing, quiet vacation on the beach.

We had a WONDERFUL time at the property. The VRBO was clean, private and the listing description does NOT do this place justice. Our expectations were exceeded. Of the other VRBO’s we have stayed at in Vashon Island this is the BEST! From the quiet morning sunrises to the evening BBQ and sunsets you cannot ask for a better location! Thank you for your hospitality!!

Driftwood Island Retreat has one of the most beautiful locations imaginable. The house itself is lovely. It is wonderfully and comfortably furnished and supplied with fabulous comfy blankets and pillows. The kitchen has every item we could possibly use and much more.

This location is magical and the hosts have put much thought and care into creating a space that provides great comfort and convenience for their guests. A short 20-minute ferry ride from West Seattle and then a 10 minute drive from the Vashon ferry dock, the place is easy to find with the host-provided directions. Mary Ann provided a warm and informative welcome upon arrival, introducing us to the property and its many amenities. The house is perfect for any length of stay, as it is comfortable, spacious and very well-equipped with a new kitchen and open floor plan that turns the kitchen, living and dining room into a great gathering space. In early March we were blessed with unexpectedly pleasant weather - but a beach location like this would be great at any time of year, rain or shine. The kitchen is very updated and thoroughly equipped with all one needs. There are ample linens wherever needed (kitchen, bedrooms, bathroom). There are games galore, as well as DVDs and streaming services. There is also very useful tourist info; the hosts have thought of everything useful and practical! There is a glorious outdoor patio space; we even hung out there in the March weather. We watched boats daily and delighted in watching two eagles from a nest just a short way down the beach. The great-grandma in our group easily managed the one step up the porch to get into the place. The queen bed was too high for her, but the twin perfect. We plan to go again!
