The apartment was clean. The building was quiet and felt safe. The view (in all 4 directions) was definitely the big plus! And although it was not super close to the main tourist attractions, everything was conveniently accessible by train and/or bus. There is a large park less than a half mile away, and you can walk along a canal with multiple locks that feeds into the Thames, making for an interesting low-key activity.

The check-in process was the most arduous and inconvenient check-in I've ever experienced. The place you have to go to get the key is a half-mile away, so it's complicated if you have luggage and don't have a car, and even more problematic if you don't have a phone with Internet service. We were expecting to have wi-fi at the train stops but didn't. The building where the unit is located is not very conspicuously marked and the instructions for getting into the building were incomplete. It probably took us an hour or more form the time we got off the train until we were finally inside the unit! That was our only major complaint. A few minor things: 1) The washing machine is as loud as a freight train. It is impossible to have a conversation or sleep when it is going through its spin cycle, If you use it at night, I assume all the adjoining apartments (and maybe several units away) will have their sleep interrupted. (We reported this to the host.) 2) There are several minor defects (chipped plates, peeling paint and veneer, poorly installed flooring, etc.) that give a kind of cheap feel to it. Nothing that affect comfort or utility. 3) Communication was a little tricky because some things went through Booking.com and some things through a separate portal. We had asked for the sofa bed to be made up, but the host said he never got that communication. The extra bedding was available, so no problem.
