The fun element of staying in the carriage! Sitting on the decking at the end of the day with a glass of wine. There are cooking facilities there. Such a lovely setting. The staff at the station are lovely and there is cafe and bookshop there. Beds comfy and showers good. Everything works well.

Were some of the hottest days this year so carriage could get rather toasty during the day with the direct sun. We opened windows to air out and used fan provided so coped ok and cool enough by evening - we both had best nights sleep in a long time so didn't effect our enjoyment.

Unique and great if on a budget. In a nice quiet location. Fun for kids. Handy kitchenette too if you want to self cater. Nice area to sit and have a drink outside of the carriage. Steve was very helpful and there is a designated parking space for you. The cafe was affordable and accommodating. Dog friendly too in both the Carriage and cafe, lots of areas to walk your dog too.

There is a cafe and bar on site but not that accessible during the week in the evenings. When we were able to use it though they were very accommodating for a vegan diet. Great vegetarian options too and good price. The downside was that as we stayed Mon-Fri there was no steam train ride available, although from what I understand that is down to the local council and restrictions, not the fault of the museum and the owner. Overall I would say if youre staying for the trains and aren't wanting to go far for food and drink, book on a weekend.
