The view from the decks. Mostly quiet area.

We had an issue with trying to cancel this reservation due to the storm that battered the east coast. We wanted to push it forward a few days till the storm had passed. We are in our very ate 70's and were concerned about this storm. We were told on the phone we could not but they did push it back one day for us. When we arrived (9/25) the storm had not really hit and we were able to get out and buy food. We awoke the next day (9/26) and we were surrounded by at least 8 inches water. It was climbing the steps and our SUV had water almost over the wheels. My husband had to make multiple trips to the car, after he had moved it to higher ground. Our huge trash can floated away as did some wood and borads that were under the carport where we parked. We fought standing high water till we could get off the island. We were there about 24 hours and had to leave. Places to eat were closed and we were getting very concerned for our safety. One lady I texted with said she would give us one days rent back to our cc. Since we were only there 24 hours, I thought that was fair. Waiting for that. We wish we had been able to cancel it and just come a week or so later. The experience would have been so much better. The Volunteer fire department was even driviing around with kayaks to rescue folks.if needed. I have a video of the steps and our area should you need this for a refund.
