For a last minute weekend booking, this was great for our kids and dog. It’s a charming mountain house with an amazing sunset view. I do think we were caught off guard with how dated the property actually was, especially with the sensitive plumbing. The dishwasher was broken with the bottom tray and leaked horribly. If you are going to state you sleep up to 15, then you need to state there are additional fees per person. And state the pet fee upfront, not just “pet friendly.” Basic information was a struggle to get - would recommend a “Know before you go” standard communication that details check-in, and property info like what kind of coffee maker, grill, etc are available. This is important to people traveling in from out of town and unfamiliar with the area - that may be caught off guard with needing a certain coffee or charcoal or grill supplies. Would also be neat to include a short history of the house and welcome message in this communication. A heads up on the adjacent apartment in this communication would be beneficial as this took us by surprise. Overall, this is a great house for kids and a weekend stay in beautiful Mentone!

We had a wonderful time enjoying the magnificent views from this venue! The weather turned out beautiful for our whole stay. There was plenty of room for all of 6 of us guys to spread out on the 3 levels. The kitchen is pretty well equipped but be sure to bring your own coffee or tea kettle if you like better coffee than what is provided (Maxwell house) or like to brew tea. We ended up bringing good coffee and a tea kettle. There was also 2 refrigerators (one in basement level and one on main floor) that really helped with the refrigerated items we had. The windows in the dining area need some blinds or thicker curtains due to the afternoon sun. There is some noise from a train in the valley that comes along a few times a day and night. So, keep that in mind if light sleepers are staying. The beds are a mixed bag of comfortable depending on the room. Maybe mattress toppers would help? Otherwise it was a great stay!

Great views. Great location. Great communication. Plenty of wild deer on and around the property. Interior photos make it look, fresher and newer than what it is but was nice enough for us.Apologize if we overlooked either of these in the descriptions, but1)Did not find out until we arrived that you could not flush toilet paper but had to put in a trashcan next to the toilet. 2) Unaware until after we had rented that there is an additional garage apartment on the property that could be rented by someone else while you’re there. Honestly prior knowledge of either one would’ve kept us from renting the property.Also, this would not have been the property owner‘s fault, but on the second night stay, the adjoining neighbor decided to work in his work shop with the door open, which opened towards the balcony area that we were sitting on. We ended up going inside and turning on the TV to drown out the noise. The first and last evenings were quiet and the skies were beautiful.
