Aventino is a lovely quiet neighbourhood right next to Circus Maximus, and only a short walk to all of central Rome (ancient and modern) right beyond.
The hosts are super helpful and responsive (on WhatsApp). The apartment is in a very private and quiet setting, and has everything needed for a longer stay. The complimentary cleaning service provided for stays over 4 days was very welcome.
While the hosts are very helpful, and available pretty much at any time, the downside is you are presented with 4 different people/contacts in 4 different WhatsApp chats, which makes things a little confusing.
The lockbox for the keys is behind a locked gate. This adds a bit to stress when you need to leave the keys behind for the cleaner, hoping someone will answer the doorbell to let you back in later. And it makes leaving a little tricky because the gate must be opened with the key from the inside but must also be left behind inside. The upside of course is a great feeling of privacy and security.

Appartamento comodo e abbastanza pulito, quartiere molto tranquillo e sicuro, personale disponibilissimo e ottimo self check in

The location was great, just a 15 minute walk from the Colosseum! The neighbourhood felt very safe to walk around at night and the gated area where the apartment is located was very nice. We were pleasently surprised when I asked if there was a laundrette nearby where we could wash our clothes as we had been on a cruise before this, and we were told there was a washing machine in the apartment, with detergent and conditioner available to use. Toiletries were provided too which was very helpful! Would definitely stay here again!
