The home is really amazing and offers everything one might need, including loads of space, an electric kettle (something we did not have often in Canada) and even a bidet toilet (only one I ever had during all my visits to the country - this alone deserves 12 points, as others used to it might agree). Kitchen is also very well equippe. Public transport easy to access from here. The host is also extremely friendly and helpful. Really enjoyed staying here and would 110% recommend. Tipp if you book here as tourist: Really great to walk up to Mont Royal from here, thought it's about 5k, much better than taking the stairs + nice way to explore the area. Bonus tipp: Restaurant Canton just around the corner.

Should have stayed longer

Underfloor heating in bathroom. We cooked on a great oven making dinner for son and friends and we were able to host. Parking was good.

4 stars just. 7 / 10 in reality, because of the absent smoke detector (see below). A big overall space but it is cluttered with not traveler required stuff. Two suitcase stands instead would have been more useful. The host lives nearby. He came over to check on us post us getting in; which was appreciated. Clean and mostly comfortable. The 3 beds are all std doubles that were firm and comfortable. The bathroom lacks sufficient towel rails or even hooks. There was no bathroom soap or body wash solution immediately available in the shower and there was no soap shelf / rack in the shower. There was hand wash soln at the vanity sink and lots of personal care products under the sink, etc; but why not have a body wash dispenser on the wall in the shower? The presence of a clothes washer and a drier here were great and were key to why we had booked this stay as part of our 6 weeks of travel across eastern Canada. The supplied clothes washing solution was then also appreciated.

as above + There was no smoke detector in the stay. You can see where one was in the hallway; but it has been removed and this is a major non-compliance. I flagged this to the host on that 1st night, to be fixed asap for future guests. Time will tell. A printed summary sheet left in the stay by the host of the Wi-Fi details, all of the parking options and what to do with rubbish and recyclables, would assist ALL future travelers; who may have been on the road for many hours, like us. The kitchen has a lot of useful food prep items BUT it has no vegetable peeler, cutting board or potato masher; nor a sink plug that will hold water. The supplied alfoil and cling wrap end of rolls were appreciated. There is sugar, coffee and tea bags but no cooking oil, as the better stays would routinely supply. The kitchen waste bin does not have a lid. The only car parking offered to us was out on the busy street. Though when I raised this with the host, he said that at a pinch we could try parking down his shared side driveway. The host should therefore change his Booking.com summary to better reflect this car parking reality and also the fact that there are 7 stairs up to the front door. In mid Sept, we found the space initially too warm at near 23-24 C, all the time; even with many windows open. Under floor heating and non-working wall thermostat controls are the likely energy wasting culprits. The windows and doors all lack any security screens; which to have fresh air while sleeping, then troubled me in this inner city environment. There are 2 air con units if it had got any hotter. We would normally try to avoid staying at any place that has allowed pets; such as this one. Not noticeable; but not our style of world travels.

The owner met us at the home and had the door unlocked for us. He stayed to welcome us and show us around the home. The entry to the home was keyless and the code was provided. There were 6 of us, 2 young boys and 4 adults. There was a shared backyard area for the boys to play in. Whalid, the owner, was very friendly and helpful. He arrived at our check-out time with small Canada flags for our grandsons who were visiting from England.
