Die Lodge ist tatsächlich im "Nirgendwo" gelegen - nur über eine Schotterpiste erreichbar. Das Naturerlebnis ist toll und der Sternenhimmel voll. Die Gastgeber Hans und Meisie sind wunderbare Herzensmenschen, die den Aufenthalt so unbeschwert wie möglich gestalten. Es wird ein reichhaltiges und leckeres Frühstück gereicht. Die Zimmer sind zwar sehr klein und einfach eingerichtet, aber genügen völlig. Hofhund Ranger ist verspielt und begleitet gern bei Wanderungen. Die ums halbe Haus laufende Veranda und die Braai-Ecke laden zum Entspannen ein. Die ausführliche Wegbeschreibung zur Logde ist eine große Hilfe im "Nirgendwo".
Es war uns vorher nicht klar, dass "WLAN inklusive" hier nicht generell Internetverbindung bedeutet, sondern nur die Nutzung von Google und Whatsapp. Da wir beide Dienste bewusst nicht nutzen, waren wir also überraschenderweise komplett offline. Das war allerdings für die 2 Tage vor Ort für uns in Ordnung.

Het is prachtig gelegen. In the middle of nowhere! Een hele mooie omgeving, midden in de natuur. De prachtige sterrenhemel zal ik me nog lang herinneren. De kamers, keuken en buitenruimtes zijn prachtig. Het ontbijt is erg uitgebreid. Echt een aanrader. Ik wou dat we hier wat langer hadden kunnen blijven.
Alles was perfect.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Shama Lodge. The hosts were amazing and made us feel very welcome from arrivalto departure. The hiking trails on the farm were fantastic with the most amazing mountain views, and the views from our room were simply breathtaking. We felt safe throughout our stay, and the beautiful rock mountain less than 200m with mountain rabbits was an unexpected highlight.
The cellphone signal wasn't great, but for us that was actually a blessing—it gave our family the chance to spend quality time together instead of being on our phones.
We also loved that we could bring our two English Bulldogs (1 year and 4 months old). Ranger, the resident guard dog, was incredibly friendly and got along so well with them. We can't wait to visit again!
