If you can tear yourself away from the sea, there is a lot of history to explore. The port of Bakar (13 minutes) is on the way to Kraljevica and is known for its harbour-front restaurants, which are ideal for an evening out.

Rijeka (14 mins) also makes a fascinating day out. Croatia’s main port has plenty of interesting places to visit. For self-catering the market (Monday to Saturday mornings) is worth a trip. Here you can find local produce to prepare and enjoy back at home.

Rijeka International Airport is just 25 minutes away, over the Krk bridge.
