Evergreen Manor is an exclusive, environmentally conscious country residence nestled on the edge of Middleton-in-Teesdale, set within 2.5 acres of private grounds. Formerly a luxury hotel, this boutique estate has been transformed into a spacious, sustainable retreat powered by biomass and solar energy — perfect for discerning travelers seeking privacy, the real countryside style, and an unforgettable sense of place.

As many guests say, the pictures don't do it justice. Ideally located in the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Evergreen Manor offers effortless access to world-class hiking trails, the iconic High Force Waterfall, charming Barnard Castle, and even day trips to the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales. From wild outdoor adventures — including hiking, cycling, rock climbing, and fly fishing — to more leisurely pursuits such as local market visits and private countryside picnics, the region offers something for every taste. On the estate, guests can enjoy a private tennis court, two hot tubs with sweeping valley views, a treehouse, rope swing, and lush terraces designed for al fresco dining. For those seeking ultimate relaxation, we can arrange private chef experiences, gourmet catering, or bespoke celebration packages with advance notice — all tailored to create truly memorable moments.

Inside, Evergreen Manor welcomes you with a bright, elegant hallway flowing into inviting living spaces, including a cozy snug, game room, and a grand living room with an open fire. The expansive oak farmhouse kitchen is ideal for culinary gatherings, complete with a professional-grade range stove and dedicated wine and beer refrigerators. Evenings unfold around the dining table, over games, or under the stars from the warmth of the hot tubs. The accommodation comprises ten beautifully appointed bedrooms across two floors, including super-king and king suites, some with en-suites, a spacious family room, and a separate housekeeper's lodge featuring its own kitchen, living room, and bathroom.

Privacy and comfort are paramount, making Evergreen Manor equally suited to intimate retreats, milestone celebrations, or simply reconnecting with loved ones. Evergreen Manor is also pet-friendly and welcomes your four-legged companions. Its generous layout, extensive amenities, and discreet charm make it an ideal choice for family reunions, exclusive gatherings, or quiet escapes — all with your comfort and privacy in mind. Many of our guests return time and again, drawn back by the warmth of the house, the beauty of its surroundings, and the countless personal touches that make each stay unique.
