A true Norwegian mountain pasture cabin, completely alone in the landscape. No cabin clusters, no traffic – just open mountain scenery, grazing animals in summer and a silence that is hard to find elsewhere.

Located in Vinje, Telemark, this traditional mountain cabin (seter / summer farm) offers panoramic views, total privacy and direct access to nature. Ideal for guests seeking a secluded and authentic stay in the Norwegian mountains.

The cabin has a area of 55 m². It consists of three bedrooms, a cozy living room with a fireplace, a partially open kitchen with a dining area, and access to a covered terrace with a view and evening sun. The standard is comfortable – and completely in line with the genuine and down-to-earth expression you encounter here.

The cabin has 12V electricity, WiFi, and a TV with Chromecast for guests who would like to stay connected or enjoy streaming during their stay. The cabin is equipped with a modern Separett bio-toilet, which separates liquid and solid waste and is virtually odor-free. The kitchen features a gas fridge and gas stove. Fresh water is collected from a private well located about 50 meters from the cabin, and a water purification system is installed, providing safe drinking water directly from the well, so guests do not need to bring their own drinking water. The cabin is approximately 100 meters walking distance from the private parking area.

This is not just a cabin – it is a living cultural arena. From mid-June to mid-September, active pastoralism with goats and sheep is carried out around the cabin. So you are living in the middle of a living part of the Norwegian pastoral culture – a tradition that in December 2024 was inscribed on UNESCO's list of intangible cultural heritage.

The area is an eldorado for hiking enthusiasts and nature lovers. Right outside the door, there are trails and mountain ridges, summit hikes and plains, fishing lakes and swimming opportunities. You can pick blueberries, sleep with the window open and listen to the silence – or the sound of bells and wildlife. There is no traffic, no stress – just nature’s own pulse.

The rental period is limited to 15 May–15 October, as this is the season for both saddle farming and the best mountain experiences. This makes the cabin ideal for those who want a seasonal holiday with a focus on nature experiences, sustainability, culture and tranquility.
