Megisti Breeze Apartments

Apartment was fabulous, very comfortable, lots of great facilities with the wee extra touches provided. Spotlessly clean. Kastellorizo itself was fabulous and I would recommend the island as a place to visit. However, I had booked a room with a patio (had paid for a bigger room to get outdoor space as the only double room available did not come a balcony or patio) and didn’t get one. I had no outdoor space which is important to me and this did take away from the enjoyment of my holiday. Coming from Scotland being able to sit outside and enjoy the sunshine is a main part of my holiday so not having this despite paying extra for it was very disappointing. Sadly the view from the seat in the living area beside a Juliette window was of the bin truck depot so not very attractive. When I queried it I was just told no patio. Communication was also poor re check in instructions and I had to contact the office in Rhodes as nobody replied to my messages.

I’ve wanted to visit Kastellorizo for a long time and I’m so glad we did, it was picture perfect and a dream come true. What made it even better was our wonderful accommodation and hosts at Megisti Breeze. Our apartment was stunning, stylish and spacious with everything we could possibly need and a good supply of toiletries, beach towels, slippers, coffee, milk, toast, jam, butter and honey etc. We had a full kitchen and sitting area with even a washing machine - an absolute treat when you are island hopping! It was the perfect location - just a couple of minutes down to the incredibly picturesque harbour and all its waterside restaurants, and 2 minutes walk to the square with another great restaurant. But the absolute highlight was the kindness and care from Despina and her mum Lisa. Lisa picked us up from the ferry even though it arrived at 2am. Our boat to leave was cancelled due to mechanical failure (don’t be put off this is rare). We therefore stayed an extra 3 days and could not have been better looked after, even staying in the room until the ferry arrived mid afternoon with Lisa driving us down to it. We cannot thank them enough, they are truly wonderful and warm people.
