Accessible throughout: the suite is on one level on the ground floor, with its own exit to the hotel`s side street, wide doors and room to manoeuvre a wheelchair. The bathroom has a barrier-free roll-in shower and safety handrails.

Outdoor hot tub and courtyard: the suite features an outdoor hydromassage hot tub (jacuzzi) for evenings under the Cretan sky. Next to the suite, the hotel`s inner courtyard with its picturesque old well is a quiet place for coffee or breakfast.

Hotel service: the room is cleaned daily. Breakfast is not included in the stay; it is available at an extra charge and can also be served in your suite. It is a traditional Cretan breakfast with local products, served at the time you choose, with vegetarian, vegan or other dietary options on request.

The space: 30 m² for up to 2 guests, with 1 bedroom with one double bed and 1 bathroom. Classic marble floors and traditional Cretan decor meet modern comforts: air conditioning, heating, Wi-Fi, TV, safe, mini fridge, kettle and several types of coffee makers. All bathroom products are eco-friendly.

Practical: there is no kitchen. A hair dryer, an iron and room-darkening shades are provided.

Guests have private use of the ground-floor suite, which has its own exit to the hotel`s side street; the entrance and reception (open until 23:00) are at 4a Nikolaou Plastira Street.

A member of our team welcomes you in person at the reception, shows you around the suite and explains the amenities. During your stay the reception team is there to help until 23:00; outside reception hours you can reach us by message and we reply as soon as we can, while respecting your privacy. We also provide a guide with recommendations for restaurants, attractions and activities in the area.

Gateway Suites is on Damvergi Street in the Old Town of Rethymno, a traditional Cretan neighbourhood where people used to socialise outside their homes. The Venetian harbour and its lighthouse are next to the hotel. The Fortezza, the open shopping streets, fish taverns, restaurants, cafes, patisseries and bars are within walking distance. The Old Town is a lived-in residential area, so quiet hours are observed.

Chania airport is approx. 65 km away and Heraklion airport approx. 85 km. Chania port (Souda) is approx. 50 km away and Heraklion port approx. 80 km. Transfers from and to the airport or port can be arranged at an additional charge; taxis and public transport are also available.

Parking: free parking nearby, subject to availability on the day of arrival; a space cannot be reserved in advance. Paid public parking, charged by the hour, is also close by.

Once you have arrived, the harbour, the Fortezza and the shops and restaurants of the Old Town are all within walking distance.

The entrance and the reception are at 4a Nikolaou Plastira Street. Check-in is in person at the reception, from 16:00 to 23:00. Check-out is by 11:00. Please tell us your arrival time in advance; if you expect to arrive after 23:00, let us know beforehand so we can arrange your check-in.

The suite is for a maximum of 2 guests. Unregistered guests and visitors are not permitted. A valid ID or passport is required for every guest at check-in.

Quiet hours are 14:00-18:00 and 23:00-08:00. The Old Town is a residential area and sound carries in its narrow lanes.

No smoking indoors. No parties or events. Pets are not allowed.
