Seilan

This was a tale of two stays… The first time I stayed here they put me in a dingy, cramped room with stained sheets — it’s unsuitable for guests. This time they placed me in the main tower in a sure you’re in the main tower in a spacious room with a view of Buddhist monks flying kites on the roof of a temple. Both times the staff were polite and personable. Make sure to get a room in the main tower.

Really great stay! Location was great, so close to Gangaramaya Vihara Temple. Clean spacious rooms with ensuite and nice communal area to relax inside and outside on terrace! The lady was so helpful in planning our route around Sri Lanka and very attentive to our needs. Would recommend a stay here!

the location, price and the staff. the unit looks like a converted house for a hotel but that gives extra sitting room space if you want meet friends. good staff and nice environment

nothing to mention so

Clean rooms and friendly staff On the positive side, the room was very clean and the staff were consistently friendly and welcoming. The location is also a major plus, being close to some amazing places to visit.

My stay at Seilan was okay overall, but there were a few logistical frustrations that impacted the experience. However, getting back to the property at night proved to be quite stressful. The main gate gets locked, and because the door bell was broken (taking three days to finally get fixed), I often had to rush back, call someone, and wait outside in the dark just to get let in. Additionally, the room lock was a bit rusty and took some time to figure out. If these access and maintenance issues are sorted out, it would be a much nicer place to stay. As it stands, it's just okay.
