The apartment features two good-sized bedrooms, a spacious living and dining area, large bathroom, plus a well-stocked kitchen. The ample sunlight and cooling ventilation makes it comfortable all day long. The setting is tranquil and pleasant within a fertile garden in the spectacular valley above Ribeira Grande, very close to town. You can walk to local markets, eateries, and stores in 10 minutes. The staff is very helpful and friendly, ready to assist with any matter and offer produce from the garden. This is also a great location to do most of the spectacular drives around the island or choose any of the stunning hikes available in the mountains or coastline. We stayed longer than we planned because we loved it so much.

Great apartment on the verge of town. It is literally the last house on the street and behind it are only fields and steep mountains. There is no city noise. Nevertheless, the town is small, so the main road, where you can catch a taxi or a minibus or go shopping is only about 5-minute walk. It is located in Ribeira Grande and in my opinion that is the best location for a longer stay, because it is close to the biggest number of the most beautiful hiking routes and three most beautiful valleys (Grande, da Torre, da Paul). The apartment is quite big, you have also access to a garden with a table, so you can also eat outside under the tree. The apartment is fully equipped with exception of a dishwasher. There is fast and stable WiFi connection. Three friendly dogs that love being petted. Below I mention some small flaws, but I want to make it clear that this is great house, we loved staying there and if we ever go back to Santo Antao we'll definitely stay there again.

Bedrooms are small, but that's not a problem. You spend time in a living room/kitchen area anyhow. Bathroom is really small and a typical American may have trouble fitting in a shower, which is definitely not obese-friendly. There are problems with water, but that's probably generally an issue on Santo Antao. There is a decent water pressure only for several hours on 4 or 5 days a week. For the rest of the week there is water, but with extremely low pressure. It is difficult to shower with such pressure, almost impossible to wash longer hair and you cannot use a washing machine. Decent pressure may be only in the middle of the day, so you may have trouble using the washing machine at all, if you plan hiking all day. For two days we also had no hot water, but that was probably just a broken heater. Other reviews mention goats - there are no longer goats on the farm. There are ants in the kitchen, so don't leave food on the table or in open containers outside fridge. But I guess that is quite normal on Santo Antao. In the nights the dogs may bark loudly for extended periods. That is normal on farms, but if you're not accustomed to that or you hate dogs or you have trouble sleeping, this is actually the only reason I think of for reconsidering staying in this house.

Great place to stay - well equipped house surrounded by a beautiful garden with flowers, bananas and sugar cane. Very friendly and helpful staff, online support from the owners any time. And cute dog as a bonus :) It's not a five stars hotel - so don't expect that - but for sure it's super clean, safe, comfortable and pleasant accommodation. Located two minutes walking from a town with small shops and restaurants. Sao Antao island is beautiful!

Internet didn't work in our rooms - problem with router. But there was a strong wi-fi at the terrace so no big problem - you just had to go in front of your entrance door.

The house is beautiful, the staff and dogs are very friendly. The kitchen is well equipped and everything was clean and tidy. It's in a stunning valley with green fields and steep cliffs right outside the window. You can easily walk to town. We enjoyed our stay there very much.

Everthing was just Perfect! the rooms were very clean and the kitchen was well equipped. The beds were very comfortable and the living room had a coasy couch and chairs to relax. The house ist located in a green valley and surrounded by a banana plantation. The also produce their own Groque and Ponche one can buy. The staff was very friendly and did everything we asked for to have a beautiful stay.

A really unique place to stay on Santo Antao! Our young children loved playing with the gentle dogs, running among the many banana trees and chatting with gardener Ary while feeding the goats. The friendly owners were incredibly welcoming and offered us fresh bananas, papaya and avocado from the garden and even some delicious homemade desserts. The apartment was very clean and had everything we needed. The location is nice and secluded, but still at a comfortable walking distance from the town where you can find some small shops and restaurants. Thank you for a lovely stay!

This is a very good location for your stay: only 10 minutes walking on a flat road to the centre and a very friendly host (who is here in winter and speaks French and English). It is an old plantationhouse in which are 2 rentalapartments + 1 for the owner. It is spacious and comfortable, but not luxurious. You can sit outside in front of the apartment, or near the picknicktable. The kind young gardener Ary often offers you some fruit. No mosquitos here! There are no buses on Santo Antão, but in the village are a lot of cheap aluguers and (more expensive) taxi's for transport to where ever you like. Ribeira Grande is centrally located for many trips and offers sufficient small supermarkets and a few restaurants. Buy a map in Mindelo or Porto Novo-harbour (CVE 1.800.-) to see where are roads and walkingpossibilities (there are a lot) or buy a booklet (in German: Rother Wanderführer Kapverden-Nord, 75 Touren).

Keep in mind that the standard of comfort on Cape Verde is different from what we are used to in some westeren-European countries
