Some weekends you just need a place that gets out of your way and lets the time actually happen.

You wake up when you feel like it. Someone puts the Keurig on. The morning has no agenda. When you're ready, some of the best coffee in Fort Wayne is a short walk away — and the kind of neighborhood that makes you want to wander a little before you commit to anything.

Back at the house, the kitchen earns its keep. There's an in-island stove, real cookware, a dining table that seats everyone, and enough space that cooking together doesn't feel like a chore — it feels like the plan. Some of the best moments of the trip will probably happen in here without anyone deciding that in advance.

The house itself has the kind of character you can't renovate into a place — original hardwood floors, exposed brick, woodwork that reminds you the house has been standing since 1906 and isn't going anywhere. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room that invites you to stay horizontal longer than you meant to. Everyone has room. Nobody's in anyone's way.

And when you do want to be somewhere, downtown Fort Wayne is out the front door. Dinner spots worth making a reservation for, bars worth staying at, and enough going on that the night can go wherever it wants.

It's the kind of place that makes a regular weekend feel like you planned something.
