You notice the floors first. Then the ceilings — higher than you expected. Then the brick, and the way the light comes through the windows, and the quiet understanding that this place has been around long enough to have actual character. It's a good feeling, walking into somewhere that feels like somewhere.

Inside, there's genuine space to settle. Nearly 1,900 square feet across two bedrooms, a living room worth spending time in, and a kitchen stocked well enough that cooking here actually sounds appealing.

Make a real breakfast, pour a coffee, take your time getting out the door. The thermostat is yours and the Wi-Fi holds up if the day calls for it.

When you're ready, Fort Wayne's best stretch is right outside. Walk to Parkview Field for a game, follow the river down to Promenade Park for food trucks and live music on Wednesday nights, or rent a kayak or paddleboard from Fort Wayne Outfitters and spend a few hours on the water.

The Landing is close for dinner or drinks when you don't feel like cooking. Most of it is walkable. None of it requires a plan.

Come back, sink into the couch, and figure out whether you actually want to leave tomorrow. Two bedrooms sleep up to four, dogs are welcome, and there's parking out front and in the alley behind the house.

The kind of place that makes a long weekend feel too short.
