桂林阳朔良宿 LS Hotel Liangsu Yangshuo

We stayed at LS Hotel (Liangsu) in Yangshuo as a family with three children, and our impressions were mixed. The positives first. The views from the hotel are genuinely stunning, and they are the reason to come. Our room had been recently renovated, was comfortable, and had excellent blackout curtains — a real bonus with young children. The staff were the best part of the stay: they consistently went beyond what we asked for and were unfailingly helpful. The hotel also offers a complimentary photoshoot, and the photographers were lovely — patient even with our children — and provided outfits free of charge.

The rooms are open-plan: the area where the children sleep and where the adults sleep is separated only by a curtain, so there is no sound separation at all — not ideal for a family. The bathroom and kitchen area sits directly next to the master bed, which looks messy once kitchen and bathroom items are together. The toilet and shower doors do not lock from the inside and do not close properly — there are large gaps between the doors and the ceiling, so if someone uses the bathroom at night, the light and the noise disturb everyone. These are privacy and comfort issues a five-star property should not have. Breakfast was one of the worst we have had. The hotel tries to offer Western options but gets them wrong: hamburgers, pizza, fries, nuggets and sweet pastries, plus cakes and sweet pastries; the bread is the cheapest kind, and there is no proper coffee machine — only espresso or americano. Eggs come as boiled eggs or a tomato omelette that tasted strongly of pork, and I could not tell what oil was used. The Asian options were good. We also found a cockroach on the buffet table one morning, running between the plates where guests serve themselves. Two more things worth knowing: the swimming pool is not heated, and the small animal enclosure — deer, rabbits, ducks and goats — is in poor condition. We were told the animals are let out once a day, which is not animal-friendly in our view. Overall, a pleasant two-day stay if what you mainly want is beautiful photographs; the Instagram pictures are accurate. But the grounds themselves are small, and the hotel is surrounded by dry, poorly maintained fields. The à la carte restaurant has no plain children's options — with kids you are limited to one pizza and one pasta dish. The tea is good, though the cakes served with it look and taste cheap. The gym is the weakest point of all: it is barely a gym, with only a few machines working and very old equipment — photos are attached to this review.

The property is very unique, the rooms are wonderful and staff is great 👍 perfect stay

Wish they had a more well equipped fitness centre, don’t expect to get much of a workout here

Oggettivamente troppo cara rispetto alla struttura e ai servizi che offre. Livello di pulizia medio, si può fare decisamente di più. Personale di un hotel 5* che non parla inglese… Camera decisamente più brutta rispetto alle foto. Ristorante con pochissima scelta (quasi 0) per chi non mangia carne. Era parte del nostro viaggio di nozze e nonostante glielo avessimo comunicato non hanno organizzato nulla (a differenza di altri alberghi in Cina). Non vale il prezzo
