Extremely comfortable, clean, and close to everything needed.
Only recommendation is to install a handrail for the front entrance. Steps are narrow and steep to the entrance but manageable.

We chose the Bywater to be close to nightly music, and it was a great choice. We were a 3 minute drive from BJ's Lounge, which we went to four out of our five available evenings. Our host, James, was next door, but very unobtrusive, and quite helpful and a kind and caring person. We loved hearing the local roosters crow in the mornings and at dusk, and stumbled upon a fenced yard with five little chicks pecking around looking absolutely adorable! Location is close to all the grocery and drug store shopping we needed as well.
We have zero negative comments about this location, our host, and our overall experience! James, our host, was very helpful and truly accommodated all our needs. We mentioned our first full day there that we were surprised not to have a toaster in the unit. This was news to our host, who promptly investigated the issue and by the next morning, we had a brand new toaster for the unit! That is the kind of excellent service James provided to us.

This place was exactly what we wanted for a long-term stay in New Orleans. We loved that it was in a historic neighborhood that is thriving and reborn after Hurricane Katrina. The house has been fully renovated, yet still maintains its original architectural elements. The property is a "Shotgun House," which took a day or so to orient to, but then grew to enjoy. We were happy to find modern HVAC to keep us comfortable! The bed and bedding were very nice. We used the full kitchen and laundry, which was so nice as we did not need to eat out for every meal or find a laundromat. We came to New Orleans for the music, which did not disappoint, but we found a community. During our stay, we made acquaintances with neighbors and felt comfortable walking, riding our bikes, and using public transportation. Last but not least, the host was available whenever we had questions and was so helpful. We feel like we made a good friend there!
There was nothing about the property that we didn't like. The only exception would be that it may not be for someone who isn't comfortable with a bit of walking to the bus stop, or a few stairs to get in and out of the house.
