We booked this VRBO over a month in advance, but when we arrived after traveling from Texas, we walked into a home that was clearly not ready for guests. Dirty sheets were left on the floor, the entire place was dirty, and it was obvious it hadn't been properly cleaned.Getting in touch with the host was difficult, and instead of resolving the issue themselves, they gave us the cleaners' phone number. The cleaners said they were on the way, which meant we had to sit and wait while the property was cleaned and the bedding was washed. Even then, the cleaning was very basic—just a quick sweep, mop, and wipe-down of the bathrooms. The mattresses were stained, and there weren't even any towels for us to shower with, so we had to go buy our own.The worst part is that waiting for the cleaning caused us to miss the reservation that was the entire reason for our trip. VRBO did provide us with a partial refund, but the host's only offer was an extra hour at checkout, which didn't make up for everything we lost.To make matters worse, the cleaner arrived with a group of people, creating unnecessary commotion, and seemed upset with us over a situation that wasn't our fault. This was a very disappointing experience from start to finish. We will never book this property again.

We had to contact her to get the code. we were hit with a strong smoke smell as soon as we opened the door. One of the "bedrooms" was actually a living room with two doorways and no door, a couch, TV, and a bed on the floor. This was the only mattress comfortable enough for my wife to sleep on, so we sacrificed privacy and had to sleep in there. The bathrooms were not clean, and had empty hand soap bottles. The beds had thin blankets on them. Went to make coffee, and the coffee maker had mold growing in the basket. The refrigerator was not wiped out and had crumbs and spilled liquid. There was no welcome manual. The only written instruction was to put the pot on the stove before turning on the eye. There were no streaming services and the tv in the "living room" didnt connect even to our accounts, so we couldn't sit in there as a family to watch tv, everyone had to sit in our "bedroom". We contacted the owner who sent her mom to "fix" things, and said she would be there in 5 minutes, an hour later, we left as we did not come for a vacation to sit and wait for someone to come do what should already have been done. She dropped off soap and paper towels. Still no coffee maker. It's full of mold. Dishwasher had dirty dishes and the bottom was filthy with several old pods dried up. Tried to cook father's day breakfast, no baking pans, no can openerSmelled like mold. All of our throats and chest hurt. No decorations. It is a cute house, but is not ready for guests.
