Take the short ride by car or the island trolley to the north end of the island to Old San Carlos Boulevard with loads of new restaurants (and some old favorites), food trucks, bars and Bayside Park. Also at the north end of the island sits Bowditch Point Park with its turtle walk and lively beach where all the boats pass on their way out to the Gulf. You can choose to go south to Lovers Key State Park, where you can hike along nature trails, canoe or kayak along estuaries and bicycle amidst the mangroves or further south to exclusive shopping centers in Bonita and Naples. Now open, Santini Marina Plaza, will offer you shops and a marina, where you can rent a boat or kayak and explore the Great Waterway and mangrove back bays! Restaurants at Santini Plaza scheduled to open January 2026. The island's major supermarket, Publix, is open, as is Snook Bight Marina with its two lively restaurants on the Bay.
