Beautiful Guesthouse and an excellent Host

Our stay at Far Far Away was an absolute dream. We were welcomed with a smile by Jacques, who has an incredible host. The place itself is so rich is texture and details, it was quite spectacular. We loved sitting by the fireplace in the evenings listening to the beautifully curated playlists. Our room was spacious (incredibly high ceilings), tastefully decorated, lots of space for our luggage and a super clean bathroom. The bath was a great (with bubble bath included) and the shower is truly one of the best rainfall showers ever. The bed was extremely comfy and all the linen was of a high quality. Our room also had a semi-private seating area adjacent to our room which was must appreciated. We were very lucky to have the place to ourselves for most of our stay so it almost felt like a private stay. The breakfast each morning was delicious and beautifully prepared by Jacques (thank you for all the coffees too). The lawn, pool area and cactus gardens were all stunning, and the addition of Marrow (Jacques adorable little dog) made this stay extra special. The guest house itself is situated in a quiet street a short walking distance away from fantastic restaurants like Hello You, the Hester Rupert Museum, the Fossil Museum as well as cute shops like Te Water House. It was also very conveniently locate close to a Spar so we were able to do general shopping very easily. Jacques was an enthusiastic and considerate host, gave us lots of suggestions of things to do and see, but also gave us lots of space to just hang round the house. This was our first time visiting Graaf Reniet (and Far Far Away) but we are already planning when to come back because we loved the experience so much.

I'd have to really think hard about any downsides to this stay. Honestly it was perfect. Maybe adding a couple more interesting books onto the library? Electric blanket for the beds (although it wasn't too chilly when we were there).

Couldn’t lock our room doors
