Aarde is a very special place. Beautiful architecture and interior fit out, all framed by a super garden and stoep, on a lovely quiet road, close enough a stroll into the village but nicely away from the R62 crowds. Wonderful hosts.

Had a wonderful time staying at Aarde in Barrydale. Thank you, Jan and Marc, for being such wonderful hosts. Your property is simply stunning! You have to come and experience it, photos don’t do the place justice. We especially loved lying in front of the fireplace. We got the well-deserved rest we were hoping for. Thank you for all the small details—the flowers, bubbly, and snacks. We really appreciate it. We will definitely be back in the future. A gem directly on South Africa's scenic Route 62! The key handover was smooth and easy. We ringed the bell and Jan welcomed us, showed us the apartment, presented our generous welcome aperitif, and left us so we could unfold ourselves in the beautiful home! Marc came over the next day and we had a nice chat about the house, the area, and life in SA. The hosts provided infos about the best food and beverage possibilities in the area and even prepared an extensive booklet containing a detailed catalog with the different establishments. Jan and Marc are very friendly and helpful, they are talented in both architecting and designing interiors as well as outdoor areas, and their hosting capabilities are outstanding. It is impossible to overlook the passion and love they have towards building beautiful homes and hosting guests. We absolutely enjoyed the stay and will 100% be back! Thank you!!
