Canela Mountain Villa Hotel

Patricia and Francisco were exceptionally kind hosts. They treated our group like family. They were very accommodating and also assisted us in booking local tours. The property is clean and very safe. While we were there, the property was going through expansion for even more amenities in the near future. We would highly recommend staying here!

We found Canela Mountain Village to be likely the best part of our time in Colombia. Between the views from the hotel and the people contained in it, it was a picture of excellence. Patricia and Franco were simply impeccable hosts, and Estefanie was very helpful with coordination of transportation, tours, or ways to pass the time. I cannot recall the name of the lady who worked in the on premise restaurant/kitchen but she did an awesome job cooking a delicious breakfast. We have never had such an experience in a hotel where we quite literally felt like we were at home. We would not change anything about our time in Salento staying at Canela. It will be where we stay for any future trips to Salento without hesitation.

Canela mountain villa exceeded my expectations and made me feel so welcomed from the very start. The property owners Pat and Franco felt like family right away and gave me the best advice on where to go, what to eat, and how to spend my time during my stay in Salento. I loved the trail leading from the hotel straight into town. This safe and scenic journey was super convenient and only took about 10 minutes. This hotel sits high on a mountain giving breathtaking views of the town and its surrounding mountainous landscapes. I spent most of my mornings lounging in the hammock taking it all in with a fresh cup of coffee. I’ve already made plans to come back next year. I want to book the penthouse suite next time! It comes fully equipped with a fireplace, a common lounge area, and even has a private sauna/steam room. I’m looking forward to coming back and will definitely book again!
