This property is a lovely location with easy access to the pretty canal. It has lots of bedrooms which was ideal for our large family. The kitchen has a selection of crockery and glasses. Pets are allowed (downstairs only). Lots of free parking on the road. Easy self check in. Dining table. Outdoor space.

There were some small things that could have improved the place and a couple of bigger issues. The small ones were the fact that there were only 5 forks (we were a group of 10); it is advertised as having towels but some rooms did not have any and some of the ones that did were tiny, old hand towels; there was a lack of extra toilet rolls for a house that takes a high number of guests. There is no information about what's allowed in the green bin, we googled it. The WiFi code was not readily available. A welcome pack or a welcome message would help this. The bigger issues were that the fridge was turned off on arrival without our knowledge so food was sat in a warm fridge. When we turned it on, it was hardly cool at all. We spent a long time and lots of money preparing food and lots of it went off. The oven took ages to cook things. I appreciate the fact that the property is very reasonably priced but I wish we'd known these things before arrival. Having said that, we had a lovely break and would not discourage booking here. Just be aware before you book.

The location was fairly quiet & near to the places we needed to get to over the weekend. It had a roof, windows & doors.

We were called away from our son's wedding rehearsal because our relatives couldn't get into the accommodation (they were sharing the house with us); the key code we were sent was incorrect. Although someone came quickly & had the correct code there was not even an apology about us missing the rehearsal. He walked us through the house & when I asked 'Where is the 3rd double bedroom?' his response was that there wasn't one. He noted that I was the first person who had noticed. Although we managed to accommodate all our party we had one person sleeping on a mattress on the floor. It wasn't as though I could have found other accommodation for us all anywhere else nearby. I said that the listing needed to change, but that hasn't been done yet. We didn't ask for a partial refund, but neither was one offered. My husband had to sort out new batteries for the central heating thermostat. Additionally, although the inside of the house was very clean, many of the sealed units have failed & the windows (external surfaces) should have been cleaned. The bathroons are very dated & 1 shower is not really enough for a 6 bedroomed rental. It didn't spoil our weekend, but only because we're used to making do & we decided to make the best of it. Sorry to the owner, but your rental could be so much better. I haven't ever given a poor review before.
