Avoid this property. Don’t stay here. No wonder this property doesn’t have any reviews.
It was a lovely house. The bedding was clean. It was roomy.
Host entered the property without permission or prior agreement. We returned to the property to find the host inside the house.
Host confirmed that the CCTV cameras were working when I asked about them yet she didn’t disclose the CCTV cameras at time of booking or when the booking was confirmed or even in the policies. I have photographs showing the CCTv cameras capturing inside and outside of the house. I have a text from the host confirming the cameras are working.
The owner told us on a voicemail that she sent to my personal WhatsApp that the property gets sprayed every 10 days to deter the mosquitoes. The property should’ve been sprayed the day before we arrived but hadn’t been done because of the weather. She repeatedly told us the that the bug spray would take place the next day- it never happened during our entire stay. The cleaner didn’t finish cleaning the property until after 5.30pm because she told us the Mosquitoes were all over the kitchen ceiling. We found dead mosquitoes in the kitchen cupboards. We couldn’t use the outdoor area as we had hoped because the mosquitoes were like a plague proportion inside the house as well as outside.
A few days before our final payment, the host asked if I was aware of the pool policy. I have the link for the house that we originally used to book the property and there’s no mention of a pool fee. I note now that the host has added this to her listing on bookings.com. We were charged an additional $760cad for the pool to be filled up by a water truck and professionally cleaned. The cleaner admitted to us that the pool guy didn’t turn up; the pool was freezing and was constantly on a cleaning cycle and the hot tub was filthy and smelly. The cleaner told us that she was to the clean the pools and hot tub and as it was her first time, the owner was going to tell her how to do it over the phone.
