Welcome to the Bunk House! Once a simple 1960s shed, this cottage has been completely rebuilt and thoughtfully redesigned into a charming retreat that blends rustic character with modern comfort. Reimagined as a vacation rental in 2025, this cozy stand-alone home is perfect for a family getaway, a romantic weekend, a trip with close friends, or a relaxing home base for cheering on the Tigers.

Step inside and you’ll find a flexible living space designed to help you unwind and connect. Curl up with a book from the shelves, gather around for a puzzle or boardgame, or watch the big game on one of the two large DISH-equipped TVs — one in the living room and one in the master bedroom.

The fully equipped kitchen makes cooking easy, whether you’re preparing a quiet breakfast or hosting a family dinner. It includes a gas range, oven, full-size refrigerator, spacious sink, complete cookware and dishes, and a dedicated coffee bar for slow mornings. When it’s mealtime, the expandable Murphy table folds out gracefully to seat up to five, or creates an intimate dining setting for two.

Both bedrooms are designed with comfort and practicality in mind. The cozy bunk room — a favorite among kids and readers — features two built-in bunks, a roll-out trundle, and shelves filled with books, creating the perfect little hideaway for quiet moments. The master bedroom offers a peaceful retreat of its own, complete with custom shelving to help you stay organized. Each sleeping space includes convenient phone charging locations so everyone can stay powered up, while two mini-split units ensure the perfect temperature year-round. A centrally located bathroom with a walk-in shower makes access easy for all guests. Towels, premium soaps, and an “oops basket” of some essential toiletries you may have forgotten are provided for your convenience.

Step outside and you’ll find everything you need for comfortable outdoor living. A utility closet houses a stackable washer and dryer, as well as grilling and other outdoor essentials. Fire up the Blackstone, settle into the outdoor seating, and enjoy a cookout beneath the trees on the expansive deck — a favorite spot for relaxing after a day of exploring the Upstate.

The Bunk House is a peaceful, character-filled retreat designed to help you slow down for the weekend or gear up for the game, all while feeling wonderfully at home. Traveling with friends or a larger group? Check out the nearby Carriage House — a separate six person cottage with its own kitchen and laundry — making it the perfect companion rental.
