Runway View Cottage at Touchdown Cottages is a place to slow down, breathe out, and enjoy real space — the kind that’s getting harder to find.

Set among Snow Gum woodland and open High Country grasslands, the cottage looks out over the aircraft landing field, offering a uniquely Australian outlook that’s calm, interesting and never intrusive. It’s peaceful, private and intentionally positioned so you feel away from it all — yet you’re only 2 km from town when you need it.

The cottage is fully off-grid and solar powered, delivering reliable, consistent comfort without compromise. Inside, the space is generous and easy to live in, with two large bedrooms, a spacious bathroom, and an additional separate toilet — ideal for families, couples, or anyone who appreciates a bit of breathing room. The full kitchen makes self-catering simple, while the light-filled living areas open out to expansive natural views and quiet surrounds.

Wake to birds calling, spot kangaroos moving through the grass, watch planes come and go, or simply enjoy the stillness. There’s room for kids to explore safely, space to spread out after a day outdoors, and no sense of being boxed in.

Runway View Cottage suits families wanting space and simplicity, couples seeking privacy and quiet, and outdoor lovers who like to bring their gear along. Bikes, skis, fishing gear, boats and hiking equipment are all welcome — there’s plenty of room and no fuss. Aviation enthusiasts will also enjoy the unique outlook over the nearby landing field, adding an extra layer of interest to the setting.

If you’re looking for a stay that feels unrushed, uncluttered and genuinely peaceful, Runway View Cottage offers open space, quiet nights and a setting you’ll remember.
