Welcome to the Yellow Lakeside Cottage — Your Peaceful Retreat on Fountain Lake!
Nestled in the heart of Albert Lea, MN, this charming lakeside cottage offers year-round relaxation with stunning sunset views and immediate access to outdoor fun. Just steps from the city beach and surrounded by parks, walking paths, and family-friendly amenities, it’s the perfect getaway for nature lovers, adventure seekers, and families alike.
The Space:
This quaint and cozy family home features 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, thoughtfully designed to accommodate groups of all sizes:
Bedroom 1: King bed
Bedroom 2: Two Twin XL beds
Bedroom 3: King bed -- that can be converted into two Twin XLs upon request
We’re new to hosting and excited to grow—future plans include adding a bunk room and more family activities!
This property also includes two full bathrooms: one located on the main level with a walk-in shower, and another on the upper floor featuring both a shower and a bathtub.

Traveling with little ones? We’ve got you covered. Upon request, we provide:

* High chair
* Children’s utensils
* Baby bath
* Books and toys

* Public dock, skatepark, sand volleyball court, and multiple playgrounds nearby
* Nearby bike path that takes you to Myre-Big Island State Park
* Easy access to a beautiful 4-mile walking/biking path around Fountain Lake
* Excellent shore fishing right outside your front door
* Boat launch a short drive away
* Street parking for boats, or park beside the garage upon request
Winter Wonders:
* Fantastic ice fishing right on the lake with a friendly community of local anglers
* Perfect conditions for skating, snowshoeing, and Nordic skiing
Nearby Conveniences:
* The city boathouse and dog park are walkable or just a quick drive away with available public parking
* Picnic shelters and neighborhood parks offer endless options for outdoor gathering and play
* Two great golfing options in town: The Green Lea golf course and clubhouse is a two minute drive and about a half mile walk away and

My husband and I stayed here for a mid-week getaway for our anniversary. What a great value! Upstairs king bed was comfortable and kitchen was well appointed for cooking. There's a really nice walking trail around the lake just outside the front door that we took advantage of and were really impressed with the quality of the restaurants in town. Would stay here again our next time in Albert Lea (and would bring the kids!)

Very nice property! Cute and comfortable house. Location is perfect. Quiet neighborhood with gorgeous lake view and just minutes from anything you might want to do in the area. City beach and a biking trail each way down the block. Easy check in and check out. Highly recommend.

Was not a fan of having to pay a hefty price for insurance on top of the listed price. Very misleading. Dining table was almost too shaky to eat at let alone play games at. Nice location across from h to be lake but most of the window blinds are busted so could not appreciate the view. Nice walking/running path access! Minimal supplies in kitchen.
