From the house, it is only a few meters to the Steenberg Golf Club and some of South Africa's most famous wineries, such as Steenberg Estate, Groot Constantia and Buitenverwachting.From here it is not far to...large shopping centres (Blue Route Mall, Constantia Emporium and Constantia Village), several golf clubs (e.g. Steenberg, 3 km away) and the famous Constantia Wine Route with its numerous excellent restaurants. Groot Constantia was founded in 1685 and given to the first governor of the Cape, Simon van der Stel, as an experimental farm for agricultural products, who mainly developed viticulture here and made Constantia wine world-famous. In 1925 the Cape Dutch mansion burned down completely. After its reconstruction, it now houses a museum that gives an insight into the life of the first Cape settlers.
